Redefining the art of photography
What has happened to photography. Its become more technical than artistic. People have taken every bit of emotion, every bit of beauty, of fun, of everything that makes photography an art and replaced it with rules, headache, stress and an utter lack of what I thought the whole purpose of it really was. What happened to people liking art simply because its beautiful, because its relatable, because it can make you laugh, because it can make you cry, because you just like looking at it?? I dont know. I really just dont know. I have searched deviant art for artists who are sick of boring, emotionless portraits and cliché run of the mill, unimaginative landscapes and still lives. Who ever said that holgas and polariods arent legitimate photographic mediums? I refuse to believe that and so do these artists. They see photography as a way to express themselves. A way to show the beauty, the pain and the happiness of their lives. And here are some accomplishments of the indie photography scene.

And I agree with you, if you have a camera and a brain, why do you use the Instructions book?
Of course that a picture has to have quality, but it can also have creativity and some personal notes hidden that we all left behind.
