A Gallery Exhibition of Erotic Art.
On Sunday 24th June 2007, a gallery exhibition of erotic art will be launched at Beaumont Hall Studios, Hertfordshire, England, in association with the Guild of Erotic Artists. Selected artworks will also be hung in the show for the duration of the exhibition (proceeds of any artworks sold will go to the artist with a commission of 20% towards Beaumont Hall Studios and the Guild of Erotic Artists). About the Guild of Erotic Artists:
The Guild of Erotic Artists was formed five years ago, as a platform to encourage and support erotic art and to promote tolerance and freedom of expression. The Guild's membership extends across the globe from the UK to Europe and the USA. From this non-profit making movement of motivated artists, the Guild has grown steadily over the past five years.
Membership fees and more information on the Guild are both available via their website:

The Guild is open to members from all over the world. However, at present, it is anticipated that the Aphrodisia Exhibition will feature predominantly UK based artists. This is purely for practical purposes, since original artworks will need to be present at the gallery, however, we are looking for ways to incorporate our overseas artists further in future.
About Beamont Hall Studios:
The Old Barn at Beaumont Hall Studios, once a 15th century monastery and set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, is the home of the Guild. It is now an art gallery and an interactive working studio where artists can exhibit and demonstrate their work.
The studio layout is open plan, retaining its 15th century character. Artworks range from oils, pencil, watercolours, life casting, stone and bronze sculptures, photography, stained glass and much more. The vision of Beaumont Hall Studios is to provide a permanent exhibition, and a working showroom of erotic art.
The barn is currently undergoing major refurbishment in order to accommodate and exhibit new work to its best potential.
Beaumont Hall Studios is located near St Albans, Hertfordshire:

*What is art? What is porn?
The intention of this news article is not to open the age-old debate of what differentiates art from porn. Please use common sense when submitting artworks for consideration, and note that close-ups of genitalia without artistic merit will not be considered. The Guild does not, however, have a policy against
implied masturbation or sexual acts when depicted tastefully since there is no concrete definition of what constitutes good taste or high quality, these decisions are left to the discretion of the panel. If in doubt, please email the Guild for clarification.
Please remember the deadline of 27th May for submission of artworks!
Once received, all submissions will be acknowledged and assessed on 27th May.
Deadline for the delivery and hanging of artworks is 17th June.
We are excited about the potential this art gallery launch has for both members, prospective members and the art world alike, and we look forward to seeing your submissions!

Devious Comments
Although the article states that artists must hang their own artworks (where hanging is appropriate) I am prepared to take this responsibility on myself if artists are willing to ensure the safe arrival of their artworks, if successfully approved for the gallery.
