:pointr:Tell Me A Lie - Winners

As humans, it is our duty to lie as much as we possibly can in order to gather personal wealth. It's a law of nature, trust me, I read it in a book.

Well, maybe I didn't, but lying did give a few writers an opportunity for wealth and fame with the Tell me A Lie competition.

The winners have been announced, and the entries you'll find in the article are really fantastic.

For prose, =apocathary's piece Toilet Paper took the checkered flag and a slew of great prizes. For Poetry, *CailinLiath's Follies came out on top and took the honours as such.

A fantastic contest with amazing results. Thanks to all the judges, contest-creators and entrants for a great experience. You can read more, including the runners-up, in "Tell Me A Lie" Comp Winners! article.

:pointr:litNews

While I know the world waits anxiously every day for a new Literature Gallery Update, sometimes the month or so we take to compile everything just leaves a few little things out. Or maybe you've grown addicted to knowing what happens, when it happens, all the time.

*litNEWS has been created for just that. Where the LGU is more of a collection of what's happened or is happening over a span of month, this aims to allow you to pick up on things as they occur. Give it a watch, and you can keep your pulse on the living, active entity that is dALit.

:pointr:Spring Haiku Contest Results

With almost a month's worth of entries, the Spring Haiku Contest has completed and all the finalists decided.

`diamondie has taken the prize with her poem White Haiku, capturing the essence of the season in a short span.

A lot of thanks to =MSJames for running this contest, and judges *AbCat and =AngelaD. A lot of quality entries. Make sure you check out the full winners article for all the entries that ranked.

:pointr:April Agon

All through the month of April (which has been scientifically proven as the cruelest month), the literature GDs put out various challenges and prompts in the literature forums in order to get the creative juices flowing.

At the end of it all, we saw some pretty fantastic entries. You can check out those results in the Finale Article and take a look through some of the winners and excellent entries.

:pointr:Children's Stories

The Works, a UK based bookshop, along with Walker books has put up a competition for writers interested in children's stories.

*futilitarian has written a short article to let us all know that they are allowing writers to have their story (aimed for 2-7 year olds) put into print and sold for charity.

You can read more on The Works website.

:pointr:Interview: IfrozenspiritI

Our very own `bananaprincess has done another excellent interview with writer *IfrozenspiritI discussing life, the universe and everything. Well, not everything, but certainly their writing, life and what inspires them.

Fantastic, if not short, read that you should give a look-see if you can. Check out the full article here.

:pointr:Devographies RESULTS

Given a prompt of someone's (possibly fictional) life-story on dA, what do you think the results would look like? I imagine it'd be something like the the Deviographies results. Writers were put to task by =intangebility to take a deviant's biography (written by the deviants themselves) and make a story based on that. The results turned out pretty well, so go give it a look and thank the contest-initiator for all the hard work.

:pointr:Soundzine - Issue 1 and Beyond

Soundzine, a group focussed on the word and sound, has put out their very first issue on their website. It showcases the poetry and recorded word of many different artists with some excellent results.

They are also taking submissions for their next installment. Call for Submissions has been put out, and the writers of deviantART are put to the challenge of submitting their works and also spreading the word. The next challenge is to write a piece from the perspective on the opposite sex. Check out ~Soundzine, their dA account, as well as the news article Guys vs Girls and keep spreading the love.

:pointr:Visual Lit

Now that we've focussed on the word and the sound, let's turn our attention to the word and the image. =VisualLit is a new, community project that is focussed on bridging that gap of Visual art and the Written art. It is a collection of resources and collaborations across the site that needs your utmost attention to continue to thrive.

Go and give the account a watch and make sure you read this article for more details on the project itself. Go lit!

:pointr:Mimesis - Issue 1

Mimesis, the print poetry journal, has recently released its first issue which proved to be a success.

The journal is now accepting poetry, article and artwork submissions for issues 2 (due out in July) and 3. Have a look at the submissions page.

:pointr:Poetry Library

The ~PoetryLibrary is still moving ahead slowly but surely, adding new informative essays and articles about poetry, poets and poetics. If you have an article about poetry in some way or another please submit it to the library via note and let everyone benefit from your wisdom and intellect! Meanwhile, get reading some of the material that's already there for your perusal.

:pointr:Suture Re-opened

A notice for people that were paying attention to this: the *suture account has been re-opened. There's no specific news right now about any new work, but the account is no longer banned and will be used in the future (hopefully).
