It is now policy that all Bots joining the dAmn chat network need to be registered with the dAmn Administration. This policy has been put in place to guard against Bots being used to spam the network and other exploits and abuses.

The main intent of registration is to introduce a clear accountability of the Bot owner to the actions of the Bot. This means that the Bot owner will be held accountable for any misuse of the Bot.

Existing bots will have until the 28th of May 2007 to register, so we suggest that you take time to submit your applications over the next few days.

After this date, any unregistered, unauthorised bots will be killed and the account banned from the chat network until the procedure has been followed accordingly.

What is considered to be a Bot?

Any program or script that connects to the dAmn chat network that utilizes logging, triggers, auto-responses, and/or other programmatic functionality.

Why do I have to register my Bot?

Due to the possibility of Bots being used in an abusive manner on the network (spamming, etc), it is necessary to register all Bot Accounts for accountability purposes.

What will happen if I don't register my Bot?

An unregistered Bot account will be banned from the chat network until its owner complies with the Registration Process. Deliberate attempts to circumvent the registration process may result in the suspension of the owner's account as well.
