[link] is building quite the buzz amongst artists contacted and contributing so far. The official site has been live only six weeks and for a project that sees no advertising or profit, it has already had over 70 submissions, all of which are of a very high standard.
The creator Rich Johnson is hoping the world of Erth will become a showcase, not just for his own work, but other artists too.
The first novel in the series
The Enemy's Son is currently complete and Rich hopes one day to be published. But, he is realistic, this is a competitive market and doesn't claim to be a writer...yet.
"I am a professional artist and designer and have decided to use what I know within this field to help support the book further. There are many possibilities where this can go - yes this site will be supportive of the book, but it is my intention that it becomes a community for my contemporaries also. This way I feel the world of Erth and the characters that inhabit it have more longevity."
I would hate to think by contributing for free is any reflection on any artist's high standard of work and I hope that they will receive the appreciation and support through my site that their interest and passion for our discipline is the true mark of any professional. I am recieving very positive feedback so far on the story and those who have contributed have produced some highly inspired visuals. So, I must be doing something right."
If you are interested Rich has a full Erth Guide, synopsis, branding, conceptual art and the whole novel if you wish to read any more than the sample chapters.
