The Senior Mentoring Project

This June starts the beginning of a new era to artistic and community relations on deviantART; this summer, the seniors of deviantART are proud to present The Senior Mentoring Project.

About SMP

The Senior Mentoring Project was created to give personal attention to new artists and their crafts from seniors around deviantART. Are you a digital artist trying to find your way around dA? A new photographer searching for guidance? Or maybe you're just a writer who wants to understand what the heck metre is! SMP is designed to connect you to a senior member of deviantART who is knowledgeable in your craft; they will not only try to help you succeed, but introduce you to the resources available on deviantART and expand your knowledge of what the site has to offer. We're here to help transition you onto life in deviantART.





I'd like to have a senior mentor! Er.. how do I get one?

It's easy! Head over to the `seniormentors and send a note with your choosen craft of art in the title (i.e., photography, poetry, vectors, etc). Be sure to include some examples of your art, what kind of help you're looking for, and why. From there, seniors within the community will do their best to team you up with a senior who you will be able to benefit from. Remember, it may take some time to find a senior to work with you, so don't worry if it takes some time to receive a note back.
