Gallery Updates
This month, I have spent a bit of time in the report desk. I tried cleaning from the gallery instead of the report desk, and it is nearly impossible, especially by myself. so I am quite Dependant on your report desk reports. $Moonbeam13 did and awesome job helping me get it down so now I can more easily keep up. Thank you so much for your reports!
I get tons of DD suggestions now! Special thanks to =lazybutt who as you might have noticed, is responsible for almost every DD posted!

I can spend hours looking and find nothing then I have an inbox with 8 billions suggestions in that same time! HAHA! awesome! I love it!
Fanart fridays are going well, if I could read a calendar! I have to get used to setting them up, so excuse a minor slip here and there until I am on track with the dates. Re taking pre-school so I can do it better!

Just a refresher:

1: Anything with copyrighted/official art in it, is a copyright violation, and should not be reported as a miscat. report it as a copyright infringement

2: Please provide evidence in your reports. If you do accidentally send it my way and its a copyright violation, I need to be able to prove it, before I shuffle it along.

3: If something is moved or deleted of yours, and you have a problem, file a Help Desk ticket. Posting journals draws attention to it, and in the end, makes it more stressful, complicated, and tedious than it needs to be. All issues can be resolved within 24-48 hours usually, but only if you do things right, and read the instructions.

Many of you know about the Changes to the submission process. I know it looks confusing, and stuff, but remember you can still go to the browse page and at the bottom is a link that says "submit to this gallery" (or something similar) that will take you to the submission page with the category already selected. Explore the new process and try to get used to it. Hopefully it will be cutting down on mistakes caused during the category choosing process.

Recently I was bombarded with notes about a situation regarding a deletion. Please be aware that I will not be getting involved in situations where people post rants against administrative action in their journals. I realize I am asked to intervene with good intentions, but please realize, I will not help rally negativity towards the admin, or add comments to a journal so it can end up on the today page. When something is deleted, or moved, and you have an issue, you will receive a note. The note clearly stated what should be done if you wish to dispute the action. File a Help Desk ticket. The issue will be resolved within a day or 2, and no one would even know you had something deleted unless you mention it outwardly.
So you broke a policy, your work was removed! Learn from it and move on. Making a scene is the only thing that can really cause any damage to you. Please educate yourself on the FAQ and especially on FAQ #23: What are deviantART's policies on nudity?.

Having said all that, I welcome notes that are asking me questions, or want advice on these type of situation, but please don't drag me in to be the scapegoat. I was frustrated to see the conversations surrounding these issues, and my name brought up often, and in situations I was not comfortable about.
If you know what issue I am talking about here (though its several actually) I must remind you, its poor etiquette to post names. Please just read and heed this, and not start discussions on it here. If you have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to contact me privately via note.

I also want to ask that you see which gallery any situations that come up, are in, and contact the gallery director for that gallery. 2 reasons for this: 1 being that the gallery director should be made aware of situations that are within their territory, and 2, that gallery director will have the most intimate knowledge of that categories, and policies that specifically apply to it.

Please remember: Gallery Directors do not deal directly with policy violations, only miscats. Those policy issues need to be brought to the attention of Copyright and Etiquette staff via the Help Desk

Manga Feature
I was expecting to get a better response to asking for submissions of Manga's to do a feature. I only got 3 submissions. so here they are. Just because I didn't get the response that I thought doesnt mean that the few that choose to participate should loose out. So this month instead of spotlight deviant, we have spotlight Mangas.

Also, I made a little tutorial on how to post your comics on devinatart. I think it helps make it more readable for your readers, and also helps you organize and eep track. Just some suggestions.

Stock feature
Stock isn't just for photo manipulators! I use stock all the time for poses, and animation and lighting! All sorts of things! here are just a few of the great stock accounts I use on Deviantart.


Remember to check if stock artists take suggestions, and you can sometimes get custom stock for your needs. Don't forget to ALWAYS give credit. Even if they say you don't have to, its just nice to! They are doing wonderful things for artists all over, and that demands respect. These accounts are fantastic!
