--Censorship is tyranny. But ignorance
of history brings to tyranny very easily.
Therefore, I think it is important to remember that
this is not the first time that the Venezuelan
Television has been shut down. This happened already
in the failed Golpe of April 11 2002. [link] [link]

The leaders of the golpe captured Chavez
( objectionable for many reasons but
democratically elected ), suspended
all broadcasting channels [link]
and also suppressed civilian protests
with blood. [link]
The golpe failed mostly for
popular hostility and military
disobedience towards the new
ruling class. [link]


--The United States hurried to
recognize internationally the
short-lived, ILLEGAL Carmona government [link]
(arguably due to the favorable treatment offered
about oil export by the gotha of the golpists) [link] .
Quite credible allegations were made, about
direct American support to the coup through
