WEB POSTER EXHIBITION

~absdostan:iconabsdostan: reports, 16h 25m ago
This web exhibition of 50 posters by the hungarian artists Krzysztof Ducki, Istvan Orosz and Peter Pocs accompanies the traveling exhibition "Hungarian Karma" which is currently at the Viborg Stiftsmuseum, Denmark, 2009.10.23 - 2009.11.22. Text and pictures were kindly provided by Peter Pocs, who wrote about the exhibition
It is already 20 years ago that the political system changed in Hungary. During this period a lot of things changed, but we could not really use the feedom we got as a gift. In the euphorical year of 1989 we started to design political posters which reflected to not only the Hungarian, but to the neighboring countries as well. A lot of things did not resulted as we thought, hoped and would have liked. Months and years passed away and our optimism flew away as well. The exhibition "Hungarian Karma" is a time document of this last 20 years.
The context of the posters is explained in an article by the writer and journalist Peter Nyholm, reprinted from the catalogue.

Artisan Crafts

Ready? Go! Craft!

`taeliac:icontaeliac: reports, June 5, 2007
For myself, I spent a long time trying to figure out how to make these beautiful folded flowers out of fabric scrap (and man, do I have a ton of scraps!) - I bought 3 books imported from Japan, and still had a difficult time figuring out how to make them. And then, I stumbled upon *Kurokami-Kanzashi and her wonderful tutorial set on making tsumami flowers.

And I became hooked on making them!

So, since summer is here for some of us, and it's an easy project with minimal materials necessary, I thought this would be a good way to kick off some news articles highlighting the tutorials that are to be found under Resources -> Tutorials -> Artisan Crafts and to get people making things.

In addition to her tsumami flower tutorials, there is a tutorial on making them with clay (which I never even thought of!) and a cute five petal clay flower cane, that would make wonderful accent beads!

If you use these any of these tutorials, comment with a link to your deviation, and I'll put up a thumb of it here for everyone to see what you've made!

Tutorials are a wonderful resource here, especially for the Artisan Craft community. Take advantage of them - you never know what you'll learn from them!

Also, since this is my first news article, would you like to see these regularly? And do you have any comments or whatnot on it? Any feedback would be awesome!

Okay, so I thought that I could edit the news article after submitting it, but I don't think I can, now XP

So, I'll figure out something to do - maybe post another news article showing what people have made! Would that work out for people?

That sounds like a good idea, show what people can do with the help of these tutorials.

Great article!
