The third cycle of Le Beau Monde, a Project Runway-esque fashion design (illustration, not sewing) competition, is starting up!

Beau Monde, or BM, is a competition where contestants will be expected to submit a design once a week based on a given prompt. Only the most creative and stylish designs will succeed!

The competition is grouped into "rounds," as follows:

Quarterfinals: First few rounds are devoted to weed out non-submitters and those who we are not looking for, comprised of large eliminations. Results on my xanga site.

SI Semifinals: Reached once eighteen (or less) designers remain. Usually one or two eliminations per challenge, but more than two eliminations can occur at any given challenge. The competition is moved to video format at this time.

SII Semifinals (concept still debated): Reached once approximately eight designers remain. Judges/mentors may no longer critique rough drafts of submissions.

Finals: Reached once a finite number (usually two to four) designers remain. Designers will create a collection showcasing their style and design talent. By the end of this stage, a winner will be declared.

The competition is open, acceptance-wise, except for those who are "too good," who would go far in ~cjrogers1993's more competitive Project Designer competition. Not the greatest artist? Not a problem, as long as we can clearly understand your design. Beau Monde is supposed to be fun and a good learning experience. Past contestants (including myself) have greatly improved over just one cycle! Many of those who go far in Beau Monde even make it to Project Designer.

The judges are ~cjrogers1993, ~forneverever, ~insaneashrak1, ~thejarc, *Kallastyos, and myself. Judging will be by consensus, not by combined points.

The winner will recieve a ONE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION TO DA!!
