Many of you have read
Tips and Tricks for Photography and
Tips and Tricks for Photography vol. 2 . Im sure those articles have provided loads of great help, but Im switching the format up this time. After a while, the tips become repetitive, and we dont need that. So enjoy the articles new format; I hope it helps!
----------
Critique Tip: Were all sick of those comments that just say Wow! Pretty! and dont provide any sort of feedback. So to combat that, Im quoting some information from an article I read entitled
Some Comments on Print Commentaries by Brooks Jensen in
LensWork Magazine. These tips should help us all improve the critiquing community here on deviantART. (If the tips prove useful, Ill share more):
Related to personal preference is the often heard comment in a critique, If it were my image I would do this to it
When were looking at an image, how we would choose to print it is non sequitur
precisely because, in fact, we arent
going to print it. What we have in front of us is the finished piece of work. Therefore, the only important comments that we can make, the only useful
comments that we can make, are about the work as it exists
now.
----------
dA User Tip: For this section I noted someone I recently began watching, *
xavierrey to ask if he wanted to share any words to fellow photographers. These are his comments:
It is difficult for me to give councils whereas I began photography at the end of 2005. At the beginning, I learned the bases of photography by looking at work from the others; I progressed by the criticism and the councils of other photographers. But arrives one moment when it is necessary to express the heart of the photographer. The best council than I can give to my level is always to remain true in his work, to make photography with his heart and for oneself and not for the others. It is as that which the others will be able to appreciate it.
----------
Inspirational Thumbs: I think you can figure this part out, but in case you cant, I want to showcase some wonderful photos from fellow dA photographers. Sharing is good
at least, isnt that what you were taught?

The grain of the image creates a beautiful soft feeling, complimented by the gentle reach of her hand. However, as appropriately titled, it is hard to veer from the gaze of those intense eyes.

Such a unique idea for an artistic nude! There is a sort of equilibrium between the model and her bindings. Whats more amazing is that the model held the position for 2 minutes!

There is an elegant sense of passion here, from the pose, to the grip, to his open mouth on her. The tones in this are gorgeous! The masculine man, with the shadows highlighting his muscles, and the smooth, pallid female make this image utterly amazing.

Another eye popping image. You can see the anger in the model, as her fist clenches her shirt. There are extreme shadows by her face, but you cannot escape that glare. Stunning.

An artist at work, caught by another artist. Were peering through this urban jungle from behind greenery and the juxtaposition is great. Even the road on the left compliments the image, as it adds a sense of depth. The colors are gorgeous, especially on that wall.

There is a lonely feeling of waiting here. The architecture on the right provides a great pattern. The subjects distance from the crowd makes him appear ostracized, and the dark tones add to this dismal feeling. Beautiful shot.

The Violinist

Such an intense feeling from the subject, truly enjoying the instrument. The man in the background adds to the mesmerizing feeling the subject releases; I can almost see the fingers moving, the hair sweeping. And the red light reflects wonderfully.

A wonderful example of when a Holga behaves! The sky provides lovely colors, but of course we are drawn to the subject, and then to that red streak. The way everything is composed, it looks the there is a red light coming from the subjects hands. Sort of magical, isnt it?
Hopefully youve learned something and faved a few of those photos!

But, i don't agree on this:
"

In DA there's not only the type of artist with an established style and mind and there's the one try to learn, improve and grow up his style and tecnique. This last one is whom the critique sistem is made for. In my opinion of course
