It has been known here - in France, where it began - as "Fête de la Musique" since 1982, but it has spread to other countries as well, and I'm told that is is now called "World Music Day" in other parts of the world. It takes place on June 21st every year and is the only day of the year that there is no sound restriction at night, in France at least... There are free concerts everywhere, in every city, town and village, and since its purpose is to promote music, amateur musicians are encouraged to perform their skills in the streets as well. It is a very popular festival in France (I'm sure it's popular in other countries, too, music is always popular) and there are always big crowds everywhere, either playing, dancing, or watching.

So, today, in preparation for the festival, I thought I'd share all the music related deviations (most of them photos, which is why I'm submitting this news article in the photography section) I've found, with the rest of the community. Why don't you join me in the celebration? Actually, why not make some kind of art of your own concerning music, too (or more of it, if you already have, hehe), be it songs, poems on the theme, photos, etc...? I think it'd be a good way to celebrate. That and turn the music up (or on) too!
