reports, June 27, 2007There can't be many subjects in photography that can conjure up a sense of loneliness, or solitude, as much as the image of a single tree can.
Whilst thoughts such as loneliness may spring to mind when viewing such images, I find that there's a certain nobility present in the solitary tree; a willingness to endure the harshness of the surrounding terrain and of the weather that is thrown at it daily, without complaint.
Here's a small selection of such images, shown through the democratic frame of the square, for you to enjoy.
