Director of Artist Relations


Hello!

The purpose of Artist Relations is to strengthen the community spirit as well as network with fellow artists so that we may bring outside opportunities to you, and help you to hone your skills. The Gallery Directors are the first people you should go to regarding your galleries. They are the people you need to make gallery suggestions to, and ask questions about your specific genre, or seek knowledge from. They also act as your lifeline to the administration. They are here to support and listen, and I can tell you we've got incredibly talented, devoted and passionate people on this team, so get to know them!

Daily deviations are a privilege associated with the gallery director position and there are numerous ways to interpret what they stand for however, we are extensions of the community and it's absolutely imperative that we listen to you. As such, the 'rules' previously in the journals of gallery directors have been removed as I found almost everyone was striving to focus on the 'unknown artist'. While I find this commendable, we are representations of the entire community and the fact that someone would not be included in something like a daily deviation because they are 'too popular' seems ridiculous to me. That being said, it must be reiterated that if you have an issue with a daily deviation (and really think about this before you start screaming), you are to contact the gallery director or myself and not leave your comments of this nature on the deviation itself.

The volunteer position of Gallery Director is exactly what it says.. a volunteer position. I do not issue orders to them or hold them to specific hours, instead I offer them opportunities and suggestions for better representing their communities. I rely on you, the community members, to hold your gallery directors accountable as they are your representatives. If you feel they should be doing something, tell them, if you feel they aren't listening to you, tell me. If you feel they are awesome, tell them AND me! Your constant feedback is essential for maintaining a healthy relationship

I am still working line by line through the submission menu set up to find the glitches that are there. Some category links were set up incorrectly and we are aware and fixing them now. Thank you for reporting the errors _{donations of coffee are being accepted}

I have noticed and increase in people sending notes to myself or my gallery directors to report policy and copyright violations. Please file help desk tickets for this. My team does not deal directly with violations and it's absolutely necessary to keep running records of instances that occur, so we will direct you back to the help desk to ensure proper protocol. Thank you.
