It's time for my 2nd Annual Think Pink Contest and I expect this year's to be ever bigger than last!

What is this all about?
Glad you asked! It's for a wonderful cause, actually. Each year thousands of woman and even MEN are diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Families and friends of these loved ones are affected as well.

So, what does this have to do with you, Jen?
Good question! I'm actually one of those 1 in 8 that was diagnosed with a fast growing breast cancer back in 2001, only months after giving birth to beautiful, but very premature twins. I was given wonderful care by a team of 'life-savers', I call them. Aggressive treatment, the help of family and friends and most of all, my husband Troy, my rock, has brought me into my 6th year as a survivor of this disease!

So how can the wonderful people at deviantArt help celebrate??
What I would love is this.....
This year I have many categories in which you can enter! Everyone can show off thier talents and win some wonderful prizes! Below, you can read the requirements for each category. Here's a few short rules that wil apply to ALL though:

Regardless of the medium you choose for this contest, ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED HERE:

Please do NOT note me with your submissions. This category was made specially for this contest by the generous $Moonbeam13 as support for this event and to also provide alot of organization in this project. Any submissions not submitted to the category above will unfortunately not count in the contest, I apologize ahead of time.
Contest will run from Thursday, July 5th to Sunday, Sept 30th. Long contest, yes....but last year's was such a success, I suspect the same for this year's.
As this is a personal and meaningful contest to me and my husband, we will be the ONLY judges in this once again. Judging will take place Oct 2nd, the 6th anniversary since I was diagnosed.
Only ONE entry per person-per category. You can see the categories that will be judged below. List in your description that your entry is for photomanip, etc. But regardless, they MUST BE SUBMITTED TO:

I can NOT stress that enough! I hate for your work to be missed out of the competition!

MUST BE YOUR OWN WORK!! No copies! In your description you must list credits for any stocks used if applicable and your work must be made specifically for this contest! Nothing previously from your galleries. Must be dated July 5th or AFTER! And no gore or mutilation or tacky representation, please. Slight dark work is fine, but this is for celebration of life, so please keep appropriate! Thanks!

Categories that you can enter in:
*All Digital (includes photomanip and painting, etc. I wish for Poser submissions to be under this as well.)
Must be theme appropriate, conveying support and hope for breast cancer survivors and such. Perhaps show pink ribbon of support in your work? Your imagination is unlimited. Be creative!!

*Traditional
Keep with the theme

*Fractal
Would like to see some pink in the colors, please. Whatever shades you like, of course. But again, keep with the theme.

*Poetry/Prose
Keep with the theme of celebration of life or even your own experiences with this dreadful disease.

*Artisan Crafts
Be creative but keep with theme!

*Stock
Backgrounds, props, models are all welcome, but again, keep with the theme. Would love to see some pink within the stock. Dresses, outfits, accessories? Perhaps the model wearing the pink ribbon of support? Have fun with it and use your imagination!

*CSS journal templates
Be creative! Show some pink...perhaps some pink ribbon headings or such? I know you guys are very original and talented!



**In conclusion, I must add that I will be personally donating 10 cents for EACH submission to the contest for breast cancer research, so let's make this a successful one!! **
