^lovetodeviate:iconlovetodeviate: reports, September 28
An interview with writer, critic (critiquer?), lit senior, `SparrowSong. Here are some tidbits:

“I like that my passions change. If nothing else, it gives me more to write about.”

“Everyone has heard the expression, ‘Give a man a fish, he eats for a day; teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.’ If you don’t learn to critique, you will always be dependent on others to help you instead of being able to do it by yourself.”

“Art changes how we view the surface of the world to reveal truth or beauty—or both—underneath.”

Was replying to ClaudaCasanova. Just happened to end up below yours. >.>

And bleh, I'm not. I just happened to be depressed, and it's a rule that all emo kids are able to write poetry. I haven't come up with anything good since I've been 'happy'. XD

~sumants:iconsumants: Jul 15, 2007, 12:15:35 AM Mood: Sadness
It's unfortunate that the current news system allows people to perpetrate such garbage in the name of quality poetry. Maybe your limited exposure to poetry and what it really means has something to do with your selections, but the samples that I read from your collection were all trite, cliche, unoriginal and boring.

It might help to actually try learning a little more about what good poetry is, and what are the elements that combine to make poetry good. Then you can consider yourself an editor of worth, and people can actually get value from what you showcase.
~lovelyart:iconlovelyart: Jul 28, 2007, 9:46:39 AM Mood: Anger
I am not an editor I am poet, and these are my friends...just becuase you think you know so much about poetry doesn't mean that we don't, and our poetry is original we don't get it off of milk cartons or websites! what you are saying is so rude and it is nothing for you to be sad about at all!
I am so angry that you would have the curage to say that our poetry isn't worth reading, we put a lot of effort into these poems and we will never stop just because some rude person decided that our words are trite, cliche, unoriginal, and boring!
