My wife and I are hosting a contest while I spend my last 3 months overseas.
This contest is circulated by word-of-mouth so, we would appreciate the help of all of you out there to spread the word.

CONTEST THEME - Hands
Where would we be without our hands? They are a key part to living life anywhere. Our hands serve us everyday, by helping us take care of our families, to eat, to write, or even to communicate by sign language. In the click of a shutter, the drag of a mouse, even the swipe of a pencil or brush, an artist uses their hands. This contest is for you to use your hands and imagination to express the beauty and/or importance of hands in whatever way you know how.

PRIZES
1st place - $20 adcast (500 pageviews) and 3 month DA subscription
2nd place - $20 adcast and 1 month DA subscription
3rd place - $20 adcast



RULES & GUIDELINES
Maximum of 2 entries per person
Entries may be submitted in any medium (photo, drawing etc.)
The entry MUST contain at least one human hand
The hand or hands MUST be the main focus of the image.
We PREFER NEW deviations, as this contest is about getting you to be creative! So, please try to make something new.
Hands may be used or portrayed in any way as long as they remain the focus of the piece.
PLEASE! NO OBSCENE GESTURES, GRAPHIC NUDITY OR OTHER CRUDE CONTENT, as those would result in your disqualification.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Submit entries to GrayGlow in a note,
subject: “Hands Down Contest”.
In the note, give a direct link to the image in your gallery.
Include the title of your submission incase your link may fail.

JUDGING
All submissions will be judged based on the following:
Is there a human hand in the image?
Are hands the MAIN FOCUS of the piece?
Did they demonstrate the importance or beauty of hands?
Based on the medium used, how well did they execute their submission?

We will select the top 15 pieces for the semi finals at the close of the contest. (Dependent on the number of entries, that number may change.) Those semifinalists will be displayed in this journal for the week of August 5th through the 11th until the top 3 winners are chosen. Those 3 winners will be announced on Sunday, August 12th and will receive their prizes and remain featured by and until the close of that week.
