Romanticism is an artistic, literary, and intellectual movement during the 18th century. This particular movement developed in Western Europe, mainly as a response to the Enlightenment Age which put more focus on usage of rationalism in literature and art.

Unlike the more science based art works, Romanticism put more emphasis on the supernatural and the emotional; in other words, more on the aspects of this world that cannot be explained in a book.
