Iterators: Geeks with love for dA!

`electricnet:iconelectricnet: reports, 1d 14h ago
After countless hours of drooling over and working with the new group system we’ve all been blessed with here at dA, a lot of awesome people and myself are proud to present a brand new group being about not only several dA-related art categories, but more importantly, a spirit and a love for dA.

#ProjectComment is a project that features the generally obscured and underappreciated artists and their art in regular news articles. Our objective is to recognise deviants who deserve more recognition and to feature deviations with less than 10 original comments.

The 0-5 Comments Issues feature a deviant as well as 3 deviations with less than 5 original comments from a wide selection of art. Please give your time to :+favlove: this article and to write constructive comments so that you make a true difference to the artists featured here.

Let's change!

~GospodarSamoce:iconGospodarSamoce: reports, July 17, 2007
I love deviantArt. I really think that it is a great community where you can meet many talented artists and show your art.

But, there was always this one thing that bothered me the most. It is the lack of communication.

Most of us just view the deviation, give a favorite and think that by doing that we've somehow did something that deserves favorite in return.

There are so little, or none honest comments and the critique has become comments like these:

"I love this one!"
"Great job!"
"Lovely."
"OMG! So great."

I admit, I did something like that with the deviations that I really liked. And the other deviations? I would give a favorite to them, just a sign of support or to honor a hard work, because I know that the favorites mean a lot to some of the artists.

I just have too many people on my watch list, and I receive at least 100 new deviations to view every day, so it's pretty hard to comment each and every one.

...

So, I've decided to try my best and to leave a honest comment and constructive critique on every piece of art here on dA if I decide to favorite it or if I just have something to say about the deviation.

Favorites have taken away most of dA communication, no one appreciates honest critique anymore and we are all just running after as most favorites as we can get.

Let's try to change and let's try to affect each other to improve in the art.

Leave a constructive critique, I am sure that there are a lot of artists who would appreciate it.

...

Any suggestions? Leave a comment and let's start to change!

agree. but it depends from the deviator business...
a fav is for yourself, a comment for the artist.

There's sometimes no choice for us. I said "no choice" for people like me, who are not english. It's very difficult to say exactly what we think, so a "Wow, it's beautiful" is better than "Err.. hmm... I love.. like... it's very... err... better... yes, me too.". But I agree with the part of favourites. Check my favs and you will see that there's only very great works, and that's not to hope a favourite back.

This idea ties in nicely with Vachi-Bumbernickle's special project; That is to improve our commenting by being paired up with another person for a month.

I agree, comments make me happier. Favorites are just an added bonus. ;P

I think would be really great idea for the DA community. To get a :+fav: on your art is great, but a comment you can at least say what you like about it with the artist.

But if find if I get a comment from someone I don't already know, it's either a short comment or a fave, but I think everyone could benefit from this idea.

The simplest solutions are often the cleverest. They are also usually wrong :halfliquid:
:iconlchongkan:
Yeahp! I totally agree with the idea! for people like me, who are just begining to publish their work somewhere, it's important to get some feedback from other people with more experience... at least you'll know what people think... =)
