Flaming is awwwwright!

Well. Kinda.

Earlier on this month a community development update stated that "calling out" in journals will no longer be dealt with by dA (or as it appears, hasn't been for a while) and further to this, it's awesome for the forums as well.

I'll admit to being skeptical and thinking that it would lead to mass OMGDARKHEARTS69ISARIPPER/YEAHWELLBLACKWOLF882ISAFAG threads, but so far it's been okay, and even produced lulz

The post counter limit breaks

Previously, the forum post count had a limit of 32,767, after which they wouldn't be counted. But now apparently the limit has been stopped, so the count can keep climbing! Whether there's a new limit and what it is remains to be seen.

deviantFORUM - Mark Recent by ~NekoDramon


Something which I used but couldn't find a link to; luckily @electricjonny gave one to me

A small script which shows the 5 most recent replies visible on a forum thread.

deviantPLUS by =Zikes


Something which I had installed before but presumed wouldn't work with dAv6 (it does!), deviantPLUS is an extension which gives buttons above comment boxes and pastes in codes for bold, underlined, italic, links and others at the click of a button. Very useful.


Forum Lessons!

Lesson 4: Links

It's something that's useful all over but using the correct links is important for the forums.

1. Use :devusername: for linking to deviants by name, for example ~VernonSex9000



2. Use :iconusername: for linking to deviants by avatar, for example (Although unless you need the avatar, linking by username is usually better)



3. Use :faq###: (with the ### replaced by numbers) to link to a FAQ question, for example FAQ #29: How do I become a Senior Member?



4. Use <a href="http://link">title</a> to post a link with a title, or just post the URL to post a link

It was a Golden Age where the forums were a complete utopia, every post was a flowing river of knowledge and wisdom, and everyone worked in harmony to make the world a better place. Each day began with a rainbow and every evening ended with you in arms of true love. Kittens and puppies would shit candy bars and pee cherry wine while the Electric Light Orchestra joined with God and His angels to provide a sweet symphony to all who were logged on.
