Every day, I roam the Street Photography gallery here on deviantART, and add the photos that define street to my Street collection. Often, I see a few photographers who always catch my eye, and I enjoy very much. This is a feature to those unknown street photographers that are at the top of their game, and are the definition of modern street photography.
Due to the massive upload rates in the galleries new and talented members of deviantART really have a hard time getting noticed. With this feature I want to give those members a head start and the exposure they deserve.
Being a club for aspiring photographers getting the acknowledgment they deserve while having fun, we came up with a new idea. "Member Spotlight" is now a running idea featuring a special member from the club every week including an interview!
Here are 100 (and a few more) of some very nice photographs on deviantART that I think should get some attention. Some already have a fair bit, but deserve it. So I'm giving them more.
Just a little FYI.
I do a weekly journal featuring great work on dA in the photography world. I do my best to feature work of high caliber artistry.
I search the different subject categories weekly to see what has been posted. I also often feature people I watch because that's why I watch them. So often on dA, however, I see random snapshots and subjects of little artistic value. I also see something like 35 photos of the same subject in just a different angle or position. I think if you have that many of one subject, you should choose one or two that are the highest quality and only post them. I understand the concept of the learning photographer because I am one of them and I try desperately to take interesting photographs of interesting subjects. I often don't succeed. Simple subjects can be very interesting. Generally, I try to choose photos for my feature that I would love to be able to take...something I can aspire to.
So...now, I get to present you with this week's Friday Features. Congrats everybody. I hope you will go check out these great works and and comment. These are photos that I feel are high quality of interesting composition and subjects. What do you think? Are you making these kinds of photos too? I want to know.
