PRO-LIFE

This photo doesn't leave anything up for interpretation as to the message you were trying to get across. Was there anything specific happening in your life when you decided to create this photo?
I guess you could say that I have a new respect for life now. My friends had close encounters with death. This picture to me was more of a plea for life, life is valuable, and people waste it, they take it away, before it even begins.
What was your light source for the photo?
Natural lighting, I actually went outside to get the glow I was searching for.
I noticed the "pphhtt!!" in your artist comments, but really, is there significance to the red nail polish on the one hand only? Blood comes to mind, love, passion--all the usual red suspects.
That is one unique thing about my mom, she wears nail polish on only her left thumb, usually a color chosen according to how she is feeling that day. Other than that, it was completely by chance.
Did you have a model for this piece or are we looking at your hands?
I wanted a maternal look that I couldnt catch with my hands. (Im 13, so I have baby hands still!) So the model is actually my mother.
Since we're here to talk about the driving force behind a photo, will you tell me briefly what pro-life means to you?
When you hear
pro-life you think of: Abortion. Abortion is an issue that is sweeping the nation. Mass murder. As Mother Theresa said, The greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion, which is war against the child, the mother doesnt learn to love, but kills to solve her problems. Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love , but to use violence to get what they want. Love is powerful, love covers all sins, love is life.
What would you say to people who would dismiss this photo as being silly, or cliché?
They obviously dont see the seriousness of this matter, that life is a gift. If they think something like this is cliché, they obviously dont realize how real it is.
Did you eat the egg afterwards?
Actually, there was a picture I took afterwards, that I didnt post! I cracked the pro-life egg into a skillet. No, I didnt eat it though.
