I'd make a Tom Tucker joke but I don't think everyone would get it.

So this is our first monthly news update. We used to have LGUs, but we wanted to have a feature that we could update regularly that we could all add to separately. Consider this the new LGU, only with a fancy CSS journal as well as a news article.
We decided to go from two Literature DDs a day to one. We'll all be featuring both prose and poetry, except ^PoeticWar, who is huddling in the corner clinging to his poems. We hope this might give the one DD more exposure and attention rather than two. We'll see how it turns out.
Probably the biggest news that's happened lately is the addition of PDF uploads for literature. I know this has been a long time coming and people have been waiting for it, so I'm really glad that it's finally here. To upload a PDF, simply select your Literature category (Prose -> General Fiction, for example) and then Add File. Select your PDF file and voila, your PDF is up and ready to go. I think the PDF format looks a lot more professional and is much easier to read, so take advantage of it. There are programs and websites online that will convert your word docs to PDF if you don't have a text program that can do it. If you have any questions or problems, don't hesitate to throw a note my way.
Lastly, there will be a site-wide contest to celebrate dA's birthday. We'll be posting the details and journals about it soon, so keep an eye out for that. I hope you'll take the lit-section with Pride.

Poetry > Experimental > Typographical now accepts images and so you no longer have to struggle with dA's dodgy formatting, you can simple edit the text in an image program to your liking and upload it to the proper category. This means we would appreciate is people started to move their typographical poetry out of visual poetry and into the proper category.
Older deviations will not be affected.

Suggest a Lit DD today!
I'm a little sad to see there will be even less literature DD's, although I understand the reasoning behind it.
