Google Project 10 to the 100

¢mindfuckx:iconmindfuckx: reports, September 25
"At Google, we don't believe we have the answers, but we do believe the answers are out there. Maybe in a lab, or a company, or a university -- but maybe not.

Maybe the answer that helps somebody is in your head, in something you've observed, some notion that you've been fiddling with, some small connection you've noticed, some old thing you have seen with new eyes.
If you have an idea that you believe would help somebody, we want to hear about it. We're looking for ideas that help as many people as possible, in any way, and we're committing the funding to launch them. You can submit your ideas and help vote on ideas from others. Final idea selections will be made by an advisory board."

Google will donate a $10 million sponsorship to the top 5 ideas.
So what are you still doing here ?

A Riddle

~dragonhope:icondragonhope: reports, August 8, 2007
All our life we search for the answer. All our lives are bent towards one single thing; seeking to understand. Some think they finally have found out, some never get even near, some wonder if they answer they find was relevant and start wondering what the question really is, and some try to do everything within their power to not ask. But even when they don’t ask the question we all want to know the answer to, they’ll be haunted by it.

So many people have tried to phrase the riddle, some with more success than others. And some have tried answering it, but no matter how well phrased the answer is it seems to lack something. At least for me. When the scientists say the universe is like a circle; never ending, my instant though is “but there’s always something outside the sircle”. I can’t just accept that there was nothing before time, and is nothing outside the border of my imagination. And I can’t accept the fact that there is an eternity and everything. So when others ask “what is the meaning to life”, it’s practically the same as “how come we came from nothing and will go back there? What’s the purpose? What IS nothing? What is everything?” And that may be just one way of defining asking the riddle.

But there is no known answer. And no conclusion. In fact there is only one thing; the Riddle. Absolutely everything around us is riddles. The thoughts we think, the language we speak, the words, life itself, and the very fact that we that consist of mostly nothing, and a little bit of everything, and there’s that thing which I call the in-between.

There is no nothing. And the closer we look at things, the more we discover, more open spaces, more emptiness. We can't alter the way of life. Not until we've discovered the source of it. Not until we find the code we're based upon. We all consist of atoms which would be the basic code, and DNA which would be our personal source-codes. But scientist look and look, but in the end most of it is classified as “junk”, because we don’t know what it does. It’s like learning to code a web-page and not understanding the basic words like “hover” and “z-index”. Everything around us is coded somehow. Something more obvious than others, some of it we understand. But it has taken us thousands of years to cover some of the basics; to be able to recreate things nature has already made. We’re headed into the code. But there’s still far to go…

In the end it comes down to the question on where life starts. If we can create thinking beings with technology, and if there is such a thing as free will. But no matter how much coding and random actions we put into a machine it will be limited. We’ll be its masters, the creator that made the codes. Its intelligence can’t extend what we can code into it, and in the end we don’t know what thoughts are and of that reason can’t design will. In other words, we can’t blankly create life. We have to start by something, a code already written. But we’re getting good at manipulating the parts we understand.

What is nothing and how can it exist? Or not exist? What is life? And what is in-between? What is everything? Why we here and what are is life? All answers will be appreciated…
