In the spirit of giving and in love of this unofficial DA holiday, I am announcing another contest: "The Gift of Giving"
Straight from the inspiration of fellow deviant =karemelancholia, I wanted a way to give back to the community and another contest seemed like the perfect way to do it.
The idea of this contest is to promote selflessness and a sense of strong, tightly-knit community around DA, no matter your age or country. You give back to the community in thousands of ways, it seems the only way to see it in action is to capture it. Photos, literature, poetry, digital art, traditional, fractal, and 3-D work are all welcome to participate in this contest. The top nine will be judged, and from there, three will be chosen as the winners. Winners will be judged by the community themselves (anyone and everyone) by a poll. The top three will be selected and polled again for a first, second and third place.
Prizes will be offered as follows:
1st Place a Print Subscription and their work featured until the end of the year!
2nd Place a 6-month subscription and their work featured until the end of the year!
3rd Place a 1-month subscription and their work featured until the end of the year!
Rules
- All work must be in a tasteful manner. (Sorry, but nothing erotic or nude fetish.)
- All deviations submitted MUST HAVE THE TITLE "The Gift of ..." (Fill in with what gift is being portrayed.)
- Submissions are to be noted to me with the title and the deviation link.
- Art must be representing or picturing giving back to the community, such a photo of a new owner of a dog from the kennel or a poem about visiting the elderly in nursing homes. Examples are:
(Gift of Life)
(Gift of Love)
(Gift of Time)
- As stated before, deviations can be in ANY medium, whether it be literature, poetry, flash animation, photography. The only unacceptable deviations are any resource files (this includes stock).
- All participants will recieve a limited-edition stamp to place in their journals or on their websites.
- You are allowed to submit up to (4) times in the contest.
- Contest ends September 9th at midnight EST (Eastern-Standard-Time).
So, the best of luck and I can't wait to see the spirit of community come alive!
