~OverlordMortiroth otherwise known as Rachael Gater was introduced to me by a friend of mine with the simple requested to look at her art promising that I would have never seen anything like it. He was right.

Rachael simply defines herself as a ‘Macabre Artist’ to this statement I would have to agree. Her macabre art however is not that normal proportions, I could list what she doesn’t adhere to however that would be the point of this article.

Through her art Rachael manages quite successfully to subvert most, if not all the clichéd art pieces that reside in the horror and macabre category. What’s even more impressive about her art is that it does not belong simply to one category; her art spreads across many including sculpting, drawing and photography which makes this artist’s gallery much more diverse and interesting.

At first glance Rachael’s art honestly scared me but looking closer, at the detail of piece I realised how beautiful the art was in its own way. There is something very refreshing about her art which I have yet to see anywhere else on deviantART. Everything about Rachael and her art is very unique right down to her corpse paint filled ID’s really this deviants gallery is something not to be missed even if your not normally a fan of her style of work you should go check it out anyone, you might be surprised.
