Personas: Lightweight themeing for Firefox!

=edmunn:iconedmunn: reports, July 15
Personas are lightweight, easy to install and easy to change “skins” for your Firefox web browser.

Personas builds upon the ideas that:
Themes today are too hard to find, install and use

Graphic designers should be able to style the browser without having to code

Browsers can be more than just desktop software, they can include online components

People just want their computer to be a little more fun and personal

Labs has just begun exploring the possible benefits of an online component to deliver a better browser experience. There much to explore in this regard; Personas is a simple example. Persona selector is dynamically loaded and populated from a JSON feed and all designs are loaded via URLs to remote resources. All changes to the browser chrome are applied instantly, with no need to restart.

It's a very good system, and I recomend trying it out to get the most from Firefox!

Of course it should be. It's far superior compared to any other browser. But alas, Firefox is a "cool meme", and people rather use something that's cool than something that works.
~emoryu21:iconemoryu21: Sep 11, 2007, 5:29:21 PM
Gotta get my 2 cents in. I've got Opera Firefox MSN Explorer Internet Explorer AOL Explorer AOL Open Ride and Safari. I've had Safari since it came out. It's still beta but. Once it's up and running it blazes through any site I go to. Various sites, namely those with video, are still a little buggy and Safari lets me know this by asking if I wish to continue running the script in question. Over all though it's personal choice. I use only Firefox and Safari. With Safari set as my default browser. Downloading pictures with Safari is easier by the way. Rather than Save As... just Save To Desktop. ^_^ Its sweet. Sorry I know this is old. I'm just looking for some information on Apple Inc. products.
