OK...it seems I've been here for a year on the 19th of August and that go me to thinking about all the wonderful people I have meet over the past year and all the amazing art I have seen...So to celebrate the past magic twelve months on Deviant Art I have decided to hold the Flashies (sort of like the Oscars but for Art).

There will be seven Flashies awarded...King of Traditional, King of Digital, King of Photography, King of Literature, King of Craft, King of Stock & King of Photo Manipulation.

I have taken it upon myself to narrow the field to five people in each category and then it will be up to you the artists of Deviant Art to vote.

Some people may say what qualification's do you have to pick the five finalist's in each category...fair enough...for those that need to know I have the following qualification's gained over the past 10 years
Diploma of Art, Craft & Design (1997-1998)
Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts (1999-2000)
Diploma of Photography (2001)
Diploma of Multimedia (2006)
And I'm currently studying for a Diploma in Video Post Production.

because they are your friend...I would like to think this award should be based on the collective works of each artist...this is not a popularity contest...it should always be about the art.
