Art often catches the usual emotions of everyday art--sadness, joy, fear, anger--but great art paints a story with emotions, sometimes taking the viewer deep into the mind of the artist(s). The following pieces do just that!

Fear of what's just beyond that last corner...Wearing the blood and scars of battles won and battles lost, of fallen commrades; and eyes bearing the mystery of a soldier's life in a foreign country, a foreign world.

We all hide from ourselves, behind masks of iron steel, pretetnding to be someone else; but what do you do when you want to be someone new, but you don't know what to do, where to go from here?

Feet tell more than what the world sees. Shoes that walk through life could tell you stories of life, death, emotions...the stories are written in every satin, every tear, every speck of dust. In this picture, the shoes show a caring heart, a willingness to show grace and love towards the children of a world apart and a culture foreign to Americans.

Every movement of the body shows a sliver of the thought process involved. Every step shows purpose, every movement of the hand shows a goal, every flicker of light in the eyes shows something deeper than what you see at first glance. In this piece, loyalty resides in the grasp of the hand on his commrade's back, tension in the veigns bound in a soldier's strong will, and a powerful link of life and family in every wrinkle of the shirts and faces.

War takes something out of everyone, even if they never admit it...innocence, strength, fear, life...Some people learn to cope, some are scarred forever. No matter how strong the soldier, emotion always comes out eventually. The soldier in the far left looks at a picture, remembering good times back home, his face saddened by the empty feelings in his heart, drawn taught with the constant pressures of war. The soldier in his commrade's arms weeps with unseen pain from horrors the world could not even begin to imagine. Anger and sorrow draws lines under his friend's eyes--anger for the loss of allies, anger for the pain others suffer, sorrow for his own losses, and tears for his own pain. Deep in he eyes of each, hides the immeasurable secrets of lives forgotten and the hell each of them have had to live.

Faces tell stories and whisper mysteries; each face is unique, each story a different flavor of life. Innocence with a touch of mischief sparkles in her eyes, a goal of perfection lines her face, gentleness shadows every feature, quiet lips speak of ancient wonders and lessons learned.

No faces in this one, just a statue..but is it
just a statue? Every blackbird bears the name of a fallen officer. Pillars standing tall, reaching for the skies. Pride burning in the hearts of many, burning to the heavens...a flame burning--the eternal torch of memory for those who gave their all.

Laughing eyes glitter with hope and joy. Arms crossed, linked in the love of two of a father and son, protecting with a wolf's guard. Fading background centers the light on bonds these two share. Unbreakable bonds, hero and son.

Humans relaxed, expecting little trouble; with a touch of humor at the sight of a camera. Horses alertly prancing, mischief bound by duty in each step.

Wonder, curiosity, excitement, fear, laughter: all in this baby's eyes. Babies tend to pay attention to EVERYTHING going on around them, often with a hightened sense of curiosity...which can be a problem with things like electricty sockets...These are the children of a new generation and it's our duty to raise them right to pass on the traditions and duties of thousands of generations.

You show that indeed the artist reveals his naked soul in showing his work. And so does the viewer of such art in his response to it.
This is an outstanding work of art you've created. It evokes profound emotion in every line.
Thank you very much for this thoughtful, poignant piece.
