Hi everyone and welcome to yet another edition of the Comics and Cartoons Mini Newsletter, this would be issue #4.
A note about Daily Deviations
Thank you all again for your awesome DD suggestions. Let me take a moment to explain why some of your notes dont get read for a week and some get read in a day since thats often been a concern with suggesters.
When I set Daily Deviations I often set them about a week in advance, so that means I'll go through my notes until I have about 5 set for the coming week and then leave the rest of the notes for when I need some more.
So sometimes my notes get cleared once a week, but sometimes some notes get carried over, making them sit unread just a little longer.
I look at every single Daily deviation suggestion that is sent to me, dont you ever doubt that, but please dont note me asking if I have looked at it or if I am going to feature it.
If I have read the note, I usually reply with "Thanks for the Suggestion." Just to let you know it's been read. Do not ask me if I've selected it, or when it'll be posted because I ain't tellin! Where's the fun in that?
Alright? Alright!
Gallery Updates
I would like to thank =
parliamentFunk and *
MagicalClover for their help with miscats and pointing me to problems within comics and cartoons.
I really appreciate the help and with their help I have been able to move thousands of miscats (no exageration!) at a time several times. It's this kind of community spirit that really fills me with warm and fuzzy feelings.
I'm so happy to see also that I am getting reports in the report desk and clearing them daily!
A little note about the report desk, please when reporting screencaps from shows use the "Copyright infringment" option and not "misplacement" so that it goes to the team that is able to delete.
Also Please note that there is a lag on newly moved scraps (as noted in the
Status Forum ), so check the gallery of the deviations, sometimes they have been move but still appear in the comics gallery.
I am wondering about the 3D comic artists on this site.
I often go through the 3D cartoons gallery (
Cartoons & Comics > Digital Media > Cartoons > 3-Dimensional Same as in comics) and have to clear out pages and pages of miscats in that gallery. There are a lot of copyright violations, misplacments, anime screenshots (copyright infringment) and other obvious problems in that gallery, it is intimidating and a daunting task to say the least. I am calling upon the 3D comics community now to see if there is someone in this gallery, that submit to it (properly) to help me out. I need a represenative for that sub-community.
I need someone who can alert me of any problems or issues you guys may have, who I can call upon once in a while and see what the buzz is.
Are you feeling left out? What can I do to help your gallery stand out other than just moving all the miscats I can?
Also, if someone would volunteer to really go through that gallery and report as much of the junk (misplacments and Copyright infringments) to help me really gut that gallery so I can find some legitamate DD material in there, I would appreciate it so much! I'm just one gal, and Mongo's just one fella, we cant get everywhere and the number of submissions gets higher and higher.
These are the kinds of things that should be in those galleries. Not game screenshots.
This is my next plan as a GD for Comics is to start bringing the sub communities of this community out in to the open and get some information from you.
So this goes for the other sub sections of comics, I'm looking for some help with finding out where there is discontentment in the galleries, anything you've heard buzz about, people feeling neglected or unloved by DA, areas of horrifyingly bad miscats that seems to have been neglected.
Let me know, I need some people from all sub areas, vectors, 3D, traditional, digital, pages/strips, Oekaki, Paintings, Drawings.
Come on out and show me your galleries!

New Chat
I've created a new chat for Comics and cartoons called
#CandC.
I sit in there most days and wait for people. We've had a couple good chats in there so far but several times I've sat in there in case anyone needed to talk, stepped away for 2 seconds come back and someone came and went while I blinked. HAHA
Fun adventures in DAmn! So yeah if you catch me in there, say hi, ask questions, but usually i am at work when I am in there so give me a couple seconds to reply.
It's a good place to catch me if you have a question or something you need to ask.

And yes! Go Traditional art within comics! I'd be happy to help find some awesome people who represent this sub-category, especially within the 'expressive comics' realm.
Thank you so much for the update!
Going to go and check out the chat

I think you do nothing of consequence if you try and please some amorphous audience. I think you really have to do work that you like, and hope that people will come along for the ride. - Dave McKean
