...“The Fight Against Poverty”

This is what is happening around northern America. People dealing with Cancer, trying to get by, are being left to fend for themselves. And this is the story of one of them.

I have been blessed with a dear friend, that is living in the USA. Her name is Julie.

Julie was diagnosed with cancer about a year and a half ago, and has been put through 40 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation, 2 major surgeries, and countless drugs to help her fight for her health.
The people she calls family are bored. They are bored with her illness. They are no longer interested in asking her how she feels. Or if she has enough for groceries. Or if she needs someone to talk to.

Julie is a mother, a daughter and a wife. She tries to pay her HMO so she can get her treatments, but can barely afford groceries. Her family promised to help her with a fundraiser, they said they would all support her. So she spent $200 in hope of making $1000 and then, they ignored her. To add insult to injury, she is accused of being, simply, too lazy to work.

I am here asking for help. She deserves people who care around her. She should be able to survive cancer, without losing her self respect, without feeling like an outcast.
Without going hungry.

My man, *Nucking-Futbar and I watched her break down and cry like a child over the last couple of days. There is nothing worse than being sick, depressed, tired, and ignored by your loved ones.
