^lovetodeviate:iconlovetodeviate: reports, August 30
An interview with ex-GD, writer, editor, fascinating person: `GeneratingHype. Here are some tidbits from the interview (which I recommend reading in full):

"Letters presuppose a sort of authenticity, and I truly believe that a story—no matter the form—needs to be authentic and believable.

"Sometimes I wish I had stories such as "I wrote my first published poem at three and a half!" or "I started writing stories at two!", but writing never came easy for me and is still not very easy for me.

The Use of Adverbs in Fiction Writing

=DarcKnyt:iconDarcKnyt: reports, August 29
Adverbs are the endangered species of the adult fiction world. They're frowned on like putting a Baby Ruth bar in a punch bowl at a wedding reception -- not a good idea. They're also indicative of weak writing ... but why? This article covers why adverbs are evil and what you can do to avoid using them.

Visual Poetry Deserves Your Love

*Madeleine-dA:iconMadeleine-dA: reports, August 22, 2007
Visual Poetry: This gallery is for any art, digital or traditional, which combines a visual representation of an idea with words that, standing alone, would fall into one of the poetry gallery sub-categories.

Recently, I’ve discovered the beauty of visual poetry/prose and I thought about it for a while and came to the conclusion that visual poetry should also be shown some love. I haven’t seen any visual poetry being featured anywhere around deviantART (I apologize if I’m wrong) so I figured it was time to showcase some of the most popular (according to deviantART’s browsing system) examples of visual poetry.

Please, do show some :+favlove:. Thank you.

True, true and it's also the perfect combination between the two arts; it's like a shampoo with conditioner in it. :giggle: No, no, bad analogy.

Thank you.

You're quite welcome...and conditioner in shampoo would be handy...but how would that work?
lol :D

What do you mean how would it work? :D
It's a shampoo with (hair) conditioner included; two in one.

No, never mind; told you it was a bad analogy. :giggle:
~TheNeuf:iconTheNeuf: Aug 22, 2007, 4:26:44 PM
Well, isn't the conditioner supposed to be applied after the shampoo? So, wouldn't mixing them together mess up the reaction? But doesn't Head & Shoulders make a conditioner/shampoo

Oh boy, I'm tired. If you don't mind I'm gonna go get some sleep.

lol, see ya later! :)

Wow, I was not aware of this category. You have enlightened me and I am quite interested in what I see. Perhaps I will spend some time with my mouse and keyboard, staring at my computer screen and being entertained by the meaningful and constantly changing coloured lights, also known as pixelized art. I may also eat peanuts, but as a detail, that is unimportant.

This category deserves epic degrees of exploration.
