It has been so a long time since the last Vietnamese magazine for comics was postponed being published with the regret of billions of readers, all of them retired to practise more and more together with the hope that they will reappear one day. But the long-draw-out disapperance of Vietnamese Comics seems to make us feel the void, even discouragement. So, in order to follow the spirit of the Indepandence Day of Socialist Republic of Vietnam 2/9, commemorate the 1st Birthday of VNComicFarm - a community reserved only for Vietnamese Comics, simultaneously to congratulate the Collection of Vietnam's Arts ([link]) is ranked among the top collections of DA several days, to stir the air of Vietnamese Comics' friends up, DeviantArt Vietnamese Community and VNComicFarm co-ordinate to hold:

Manga/Anime "Most Improved Artist" Contest

reports, August 29, 2007Presenting the Most Improved Manga/Anime Artist contest!
Here's how it works. Take an old drawing - something uploaded and in your gallery in the year 2005 or 2006 - and redraw it to the best of your ability. The same character, pose, outfit, background and etc., but using the skills you've picked up in the last year or two to make it look better than ever.
CONTEST RULES:
You have to present both images when submitting to the contest. I.e., the picture has to be something already in your DA gallery from 2005 or 2006. You submit both links when entering. Include a link to the old image in the description of your contest submission (This is very important!).
Upload the image to the following gallery: contests & projects > contests > 2007 > Manga/Anime Artist. This is also very important!
This is a contest by the Manga/Anime gallery, so the art style used (at least for the new image) should be as such.
You can use any media to recreate the image. It doesn't have to be the same media as the old image.
The new image has to resemble the old one in content, but will hopefully show a great improvement in skill and technique.
Those we feel who show the greatest leap forward in skill will win! There will be three winners and prizes!
First Prize: A one-year subscription OR a DevWear shirt of your choice (hoodie excluded)
Second Prize: 6-month sub OR print of choice (up to $20)
Third Prize: 3-month sub OR DevArt Lanyard
The deadline is TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY! Wednesday, September 12th, 2007!

My main purpose in doing a monthly feature about (to my point of view) 'the best visual art' is to put in the same level as well wellknown artists and popular creations as unknown artists and under-exposed creations. Artists need to be supported. So don't be shy! Visit their pages, support them by faving, commenting, and when you see a deviation that you like also view their gallery entirely, like that you can decide if you will devwatch them or not. Viewing only a deviation (what is great) is not enough  And if you want to see your favorite visual artists or art selected to be in this feature for the next month, send me via note the links/thumbs! ... I get embarrassed over stupid things easily, yes! XD It's not really because it's Naruto, because no one that i know has ever heard about anime or manga, but still. I don't like people surrounding me over things like that >>
So yep, mouse will be the solution. And also, i have improved my anatomy and stuff, but the thing i've improved on the most is digital painting, so the improvement will be more evident if i do it digitally, even with a sad mouse
