Here is a link to staying safe on DA
[link]
DA is supposed to be a community for feedback on ART..and a place to learn....as well a selling of prints..and products..
Not a place to flirt..
1) you do not know who this other person is
2) how old this other person is etc...
You should follow all the rules of internet safety....
This is not myspace..or facebook...
I want you to stand back and look at your front page..your journal...is this the page that you want people that will be buying your prints to see...?
1) what does your front page say to clients about your work..
2) what does your front page say to clients about your professionalism
3) what does your front page and gallery show the perspective client...
I am hoping that you read the stay safe manual ..and practice it..so that what has happened will not happen again...

you can't call deviantart a community and then only support professionalism... professionalism is not communal, it's professional... if we weren't supposed to interaction or even in some cases flirt we wouldn't have friends lists... they would call it something lame like 'associates'...
i spose the whole point of what i'm saying is that being in a community is fun, and it's meant to be... but when a community becomes strictly professional it loses alot of the purpose of that community...
also, who said it's a bad thing for deviantart to be a little like myspace... i always just saw it as the myspace of the art community...
