The mandate:
Pictures - photos, drawings, paintings, sculpture, 3d renderings, anything original - of old (antiquarian) books, that can be used to encourage people to think about books in any way, or as clip or stock art, or to promote the love of books.
The prizes
The overall winner (to be awarded in November) will get a year's subscription to DA, or a print account, or a free pair of socks, or a calligraphic certificate (your choice).
Also, the winner each month will be featured on the front page of
[link]. You can have a link to your DeviantArt page or to your own Web site (as long as it's not a porn site or a Republican propaganda page

)
The Entries
I was a little disappointed this month, with relatively few entries. Last time I ran a competition I had fifty or more entries, and this one got only four. On the other hand the quality of the entries I did receive was very high. In the order I received them they were:
Love Books by ~
rockpiti
Book in the forest, Another, and old book in the forest by ~natta:
So I can't give out prizes to a whole lot of people this month. Here goes.
First prize goes to ~
natta for Old Book in the Forest.
First prize also goes to ~
rockpiti for Love Books.
Each gets a three-month subscription to DA.
Since competition results are more interesting if there are a lot of results, and I don't have many, here are some other old-book pictures I found amongst my favourites. There are also some in my stock account, ~
barefootliam-stock and on my own photo Web site,
[link] and also of course on
fromoldbooks.org.
Thank you for watching!
If you're interested in taking part for September, send me a note: September's competition is pictures (in any medium) showing old books,
or using any (or all?) of the images from
[link] in any (non-adult) way. If I get more entries the prizes will be bigger.
