I Don't Care About Your New Portfolios

=Commander-Luminaire:iconCommander-Luminaire: reports, July 1
So today I've been getting fullscreen advertisements for the new portfolio feature. I'm aware of it, thank you, and I don't care. Why does deviantART feel the need to advertise it like this to subscribers? I pay to not have any form of advertisement, including ones from deviantART. I know there is a feature that notifies everyone of new features in their message centre, so why is it that you guys feel that fullpage advertisements are the best way to let us know? That's just more irritating than anything :|

Cancer: Share Your Stories

`youthculture:iconyouthculture: reports, August 31, 2007

No One Is Alone

Share & Support

Many of us have had an experience with cancer, whether it be going through cancer and chemotherapy ourselves, or standing beside a loved one as they did. In both circumstances, they are difficult to experience and deal with and cause a person's entire life to change.

As a child, I never had the finances to support breast cancer research while my mother, *LittleCatsFeet, was going through chemotherapy -- instead, I helped in other ways. I shared my story and my support as others did the same thing for me. Sometimes it's just the fact of knowing someone is out there that is the greatest benefit. Being able to talk and share and realize that we're all in this together -- that no one is alone.

It is with that in mind that I encourage you to share your stories and offer support. Join myself and other deviants at Weekend to End Breast Cancer: Stories & Support.

I feel so little - the closest I've come to it is having a someone at school's mum survive it. I'm thankful for the lack of contact, I guess.

my mom is a survivor, it s one of the hardest things to ever go through for her and us not being able to help her, but it was caught on time, she had amazing doctors and people taking care of her and shes still here with me 5 years later completely free of it, its really a time when you know you are loved, we had so many people offering help and just being there for us.
im just so glad its all over now.

My best friend's mother recently passed away in early August after a two and a half year battle with Breast Cancer. She was a mother of three, wife, and the best friend I've, and a lot of others have ever had.

My grandmother's sister had a breast removed due to it. I never knew my father's sister--she died well before I was born. My mother had a mass removed from her throat.

I've been lucky and am glad to be so.

I rececntly lost my Great-Aunt to lung cancer just a few short months ago. Smoking was the cause of the cancer and its was inoperatable. Once she stop responding to the radical treatments she passed on.

My wife died of Cholangiocarcinoma March 1st....six months ago tomorrow. I don't really talk about it much, probably the most I've said on the subject is through the photos and comments in my gallery. She was 24 years and 12 days old, far too young to face death. Yet she faced it with the kind of courage I've not seen before and probably won't see again. I was exactly 29 years and 1 day old when she died, far too young to be a widower. I guess I'm still in shock about the whole thing.
