Why only Breastcancer?

~Bolognist:iconBolognist: reports, September 1, 2007
My father was diagnozed for cancer in his stomache 9 years ago. they removed the tumours 8 years ago....he was considered totally healthy.

3 years ago he got it again, this time hitting first his bones in the neck, then his liver, left arm, lungs and finally brain.
I was 16 years old, my brother 10.

my father died slowly. in the end though, Im happy since he was throughout the entire period of illness, aware and I spoke to him, less than 24 hours before he died, 1 hour before he became unconcious for the last time, and he spoke to me.

he gave me his last smile the doctors said, I will always remember that last smile when I said;
"-Hej pappa"

he gave me his last smile and it still makes me happy when I think of that smile.....its strange but it does make me happy rather than sad.
..............................

the week after my fathers funeral, november 2005, my mother started having terrible stomacheaches.

the doctors thought it was because of the terrible sorrow and stress.

my mother was diagnozed for getting back the malignt melanom she had 25 years ago, two months after my father passed away. she faded quickly, terrible quickly, her entire body was cancer,
her liver, lungs, bones....
All of her. she passed away after less than a half year of cancer,

the doctors who was considered some of the best in the world on this kind of cancer could do nothing, they tried everything.

she died on the day 2006 years after jesus died.
..................
I was 17 my brother only 11.
..................

WHY DO WE ONLY FOCUS ON BREASTCANCER?
why not rather focus on all of them?
its awesome that their is such a strong interrest in this terrible disease but why only one aspect of it?

Hmm, maybe because breast cancer is one of the few cancers that if diagnosed in time it can be cured without much harm, and with a very big percentage of success?
An uncle of mine died a year ago from brain cancer - nothing could be done about it. As nothing could be done about your parents either, not all cancers are curable.

no sorry.....thing is....Ive seen the medical care in one of the very very best medical systems exisitng in the world, a french research last year actually came to the conclusion that the swedish medical system is THE best in the world...

but still I see, it aint working, why is it so?....there are lots of simple easy routines that should be better.

I dont get why we should put money into a specific kind of cancerresearch rather than into all.

if my tone here is a little harsch....well...Im really sorry for that...its kind of a personal thing for me:)

can't we all just agree that cancer is a horrible disease? I am in no way saying that you have no right to be upset that breast cancer is getting more attention, but doesn't it seem sort of trivial to cause an uprising against an equally devastating disease?

the way i see it... if you cure one for of cancer... it's jsut a matter of time before they can apply that other forms of cancer. i support all the causes, in the hopes that one day someone will find a cure.

 i am sorry about you family.

well....why not focus the research on all branches of cancer rather than on only one specific kind of it?....not being the deadliest or even biggest branch of cancer such a way to focus on only breastcancer seems really strange.

I'm so sad to know of the loss of both of your parents in such a short time.
I had no idea.

Here is an organization, [link]
I"m sure you must be aware of that does fight the cure no matter what kind of Cancer someone has.

I believe there are many organizations out there trying to fight for a cure. This is just the time for Breast Cancer Awareness.
