The Future Stars of Photomanipulation #1

=Behana:iconBehana: reports, September 1, 2007
After the announcement that ~The-Undiscovered project has been closed, *Iardacil, who was a staff member there, felt that there is now big gap for featuring up and coming future artists. So, to try to fill that gap a little, she asked her dear and talented friend =Behana to help her and the result they produced this news article.

The aim of this article is to give exposure for promising, talented and outstanding photomanipulators, who have had little or no exposure so far. These deviants are chosen for their skill, works, originality and variety.

Maybe these monthly features combined with our words of encouragement will help some new photomanipulators catch some of the limelight, but also to give audience’s here some idea that in the world of photomanipulations there are no borders and the possibilities are endless. The only limit is your imagination.

There are four categories, all based on how many pageviews the deviant has. Under 100, Under 1 000, Under 10 000, Under 20 000.

Under 100:

:bulletred:~Sisyphus-Child gallery is just starting but those few works she has uploaded have amazed me already. She seems to have very unique view to the world and that is transferred into her works. Bright and lightness are mixed with an acute sense of beauty and an aptness for creating stunning mystical atmospheres. I’m sure there will be great future for her here.

:bulletpurple:When I was browsing through the latest photomanipulations, looking at deviations to feature ~de7h’s piece “Centuries After What Remains” caught my eye. It was so unusual and different to those pieces that surrounded it that I had to have a closer look and on inspection I knew that I had to feature it here. It’s almost impossible these days to find someone that has a very unique style, even more so if he/she is undiscovered. I beg to differ.

Under 1 000:
:bulletblue:Even though ~lynel04 has only just stepped foot into DeviantART she is already beginning to create a gallery that is both impressive and emotive. Her works shine with a warmth that is sadly uncommon and hard to find. May that change as this artist grows.

:bulletred:For this feature we needed people who were little known but had something. A spark in their work, it could be a unique style…….incredible technique….or a combination of these with something extra thrown in. I believe that ~Nnagh has that something extra. Her works show a definitive style, wonderful technique but also something I like to call “togetherness”. This is basically a combination of choosing the right stock, creating a picture and making it “fit”. Believe me it’s not as easy as it sounds and this deviant has it down to an art.

:bulletblue:~patitoskunk is a talented young woman that has just ventured into the magical world that is photomanipulation and by her work standard I would say she’s a natural. This girl may not be the best technically but I’m sure most of us weren’t when we started. That comes from practice. But these works show a raw talent that needs to be nurtured. I hope that this will happen and I hope to see more of her at time progresses.

Under 10 000:

:bulletpurple:~braiiins gallery is so bright and colourful. It’s filled with positive energy and eye-catching color solutions. It’s vividness and very courageous way of approaching her visions make her gallery stand out. She seems to have very special connection with nature as the theme of the beauty in nature seems to be presented in every work she has produced.

:bulletred:~VanthMithra amazes me with her very strong and striking contrasts on her works. This clearly measured composition combined with superb skills can only produce spectacular results. She is not afraid to test new things and try new styles and every new work is something different, unique but at the same time always pleasurable to the eye.

:bulletpurple:~Ohaniella is one of those manipulators who have dared from the start to make something very unique and personal and it’s this that makes her gallery stand out from the rest. Eye-catching colour choices, marvellous technique, superb stock use and emotion in every piece - something we do not see here everyday. She also has many dark works which are very popular but even those works - they have something really unique, personal and outstanding.

:bulletred:DA is full of stunning galleries by promising artists. Most of them have to struggle to prove that they have something to show to the world. One of those brilliant artists is definitely =wusk, whose works are simply mind-blowing but rarely acknowledged. His most brilliant works are photo manipulations of landscapes and scenery. In those works he has caught the powerful feeling of the beauty of nature combined with vivid fantasy and stressed contrasts. In his works we seem to recognize our Earth as something stunningly beautiful as well as incredibly powerful. It makes you realise there are things much greater than just us. His works seem to be a reflection of our grey everyday world in a sunny, colourful mirror where light destroys evil and harm and creates his own perfect fairytale.

Under 20 000:

:bulletblue:*A-lthea gallery is definitely dark one, but there is also brightness, clear details and so much work in each piece, that it just catches the eye and you really get lost in the wonders of her art. The level of her skill is just unimaginable as there seems to be no challenge she cannot try and work at. She definitely shows that even elements that have become clichés in art can be used to make very personal and special works.

:bulletpurple:~endrju100 gallery is one of the most surreal galleries I have seen around here and it might be hard at first to understand the depth of his works but careful concentration in every little detail can bring us to the goal. There is nothing superfluous in his works - every detail, element and its position is carefully planned to create something so weird, so surreal but at the same time within the limits of classical beauty. Impressive.

:bulletred:*edera-ladygoth works are definitely the most impressive ones I have discovered lately. Such brilliant technique, super ideas with very personal and unique style - I was just speechless. There is so much magic, fantasy and wonders in her gallery. The hard work, challenging tasks in different themes from emotion to macabre & horror - she stills enchants her viewers and I can only wish that there will be more.

:bulletblue:*wildheartfreesoul has coincidently more experience of DeviantART than both of us but that doesn’t stop her being featured here. Her gallery is a complete mix of styles….with some dark art, some emotional and this to me signifies somebody who is confident enough not to stick to one style but to branch out and try something different. This is definitely a quality to envy and one that I think everyone would love to posses. Having the courage to do something different and unique should be prized.
