How Much Lead Is There In Your Pencil?

=AnnaKirsten:iconAnnaKirsten: reports, September 1, 2007
I have been totally absorbed in the various techniques that can be employed to produce the most amazing images using pencil, charcoal, chalk, or even pen. I am currently on the go with several projects, each of which I pick up and carry on with to the next stage bit at a time, as and when I get those rare spare moments between the computer, resting, eating and night-fall!

Some of the artwork produced here at dA in this media has truly amazed me to such an extent that I felt I'd like to do an article in which to expose some of those amazing visual displays that I've enjoyed so much here in the privacy of my own home, and try to get further exposure for the artists involved, as all too often ('though not always) I have discovered that the number of favorites or comments to them has been incredibly low.

A Feast For Your Eyes

Do please take the time to click on each of the thumbs below and look at the full view pictures to take in the intricate details, then go to the respective galleries where you may never have been before.

I do hope you will enjoy what you see as much as I did - and I know this is just the tip of the iceberg so far as drawing skills are concerned, but maybe, if you've not already seen this aspect of art and studied it closely before, it will whet your appetites a little for some more, or even to try it yourselves if you've either never done it before, or have allowed the art-form to lapse (as I did).

Great article. I have always thought these mediums were under appreciated, and it is truly a shame. They are so amazing in their own right.
