DeviantART has been around for seven plus years now, half of which I've proudly been an active member of. Needless to say, when something gets my attention so much that I write my first ever news story, it's good. I've been following the musings of staff member $Moonbeam13 for almost two years now, and today, I'm certainly glad I have. You see, $Moonbeam13 lost her grandmother this year to her second bout with cancer. Now, you may ask yourself, "What does this have to do with me?" Quick answer: everything.

$Moonbeam13 has participated in a local walk/run/marathon in her hometown for the last five straight years to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in women of almost every age group. This year, the community has embraced these efforts like none other, and DeviantART has pink fever. One person has single-handedly taken the millions of us by storm, in a manner not seen since °jark's days here. I bet you're still wondering what this has to do with you, aren't you?

Here is a journal written by $Moonbeam13. This journal simply asks for names of people that she can run for. So, if you have ever been touched by cancer, albeit a friend, family member, or yourself, post here and $Moonbeam13 will help by running for the person you mentioned.
