This is not another brag about pageviews or whatsoever, what I am trying to accomplish here is to make all you people out there to think. Think twice after reading this article.

Are you one of those artists who whines about pageviews?
Or one of the artists that has high pageviews?

This article is aimed at both of you out there, even better for everyone on DeviantArt.

What's this about pageviews?
Pageviews is, as everyone probably already knows, how many people visited you ever since you joined DeviantArt. Pageviews can mean:
1. You've been on DeviantArt for a long time.
2. You are really popular.
3. You are really good at art and people like your stuff
4. People have been advertising you, or themselves through friends, forums etc.
5. Obviously, all of the above is an option too.

People with high pageviews are mean!
If you think this is true then you are wrong. There can be a lot of causes for this. It also depends what you mean with people are mean. Let me tell you something. If an artists ignores you, or you feel ignored, then it's probably because they have a LOT of comments to answer. Specially the ones with high pageviews. If an artist is liked a lot on DeviantArt, people will comment them a lot, and then you can have over 1000 comments. Don't expect an answer in a day.

Surely there are artists that are mean. Telling you that your art sucks, and that you have lower pageviews. If you are one of these people, then reconsider your thinking. If you have time to tell that people's art suck, then I would rather stick my time in telling what's wrong, so that the artist can improve themselves.

High pageviews doesn't necessary mean that the artist is ego. It all depends on the person. Also, everyone must be able to take critics! Even you ego's out there!! Don't give us the "I don't need advice from people whose art sucks and pageviews are low"-crap.

Wheee I suck so much
Wanna whine? Then go to mommie. She will surely hold you and say that it's ok. You suck as much as yourself think you do. Gain some self confidence! Every artist has to fight for themselves! With, or without the help of your fellow artists. I can only say, people helping you out, makes you improve much better. Read some books, go to the library, but please for my undead droola's sake, don't copy styles! Rather develop your own, and keep learning from your mistakes. No one said the road to perfection is easy. Nothing is perfect, even the best makes mistakes.

I got too less pageviews!
Read the "What's this about pageviews" part, this will answer some of your questions. However, right now I have time to explain more about this subject. Why do you have so less pageviews?
It depends on how you look at it. What's less to you? What's much to you? I think the average is 20 pageviews a day.
If you want more pageviews you are either hungry for fame, or just really desperate. Control yourself! Pageviews don't jump in that quick. Like I said, it depends on how popular you are. Also, stop being so desperate. You WILL get pageviews, it just takes time. Be patient!

And for all your artists who already have high pageviews.. Rather stick your time in helping artists with lesser pageviews than yourself to get more pageviews. For you will get your pageviews anyhow.

What I want to say here is, help eachother out and stop your whining and specially your flaming.
Advertise some people.. Be a little nicer.. Help some out here, help some out there, take critics and answer them in a mature way.
