There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.

Here is a list of Great Vector/Vexel Tutorials from around DA and the web. If you have any to add please feel free to note the club and we will add it. Note: it doesn't have to be from DA only.
I've started a similar effort with the Art Tutorials Wiki, although I haven't put up that many links to vector tutorials, since my own focus is on bitmap-based programs.
I would be very happy indeed if you were to consider putting those links on the wiki as well. If not, I will probably do it myself sooner or later... although I am currently so swamped with work on other parts of the wiki that I don't know when that will happen...
a really nice beginning. I you wanted to you can go ahead and use these. But i'm sure your looking for more raster based tutorials. either way the offer is always open.
To the contrary - I have more than enough raster-based tutorials, and I definitely would like to add more tutorials about other applications. Even though I don't use such programs much, I want the wiki to be universally useful.
But my limited knowledge of such programs unfortunately means that I might not be able to categorize such tutorials properly - and for this reason, I'd really appreciate it if people with expertises that are different from my own were to work on it...
Indeed you do have quite a bit of information there. I just spend the good part of an hour looking over the site. Nicely done. I've gotta take a second and think how to categorize things as well. It is long over due.
It's not just the vector art section that needs an expansion. The Crafting section is frankly a mess, and probably ought to split up into several sub-pages. The stock image gallery is just a skeleton of what it could be. And I've barely even started with collecting literature tutorials.
I started with tutorials useful for digital painting with raster graphics programs, since that's what I personally use and because such tutorials are of the most immediate use for me. But this only represents a very tiny slice of the wider world of art - and I'm pretty much out of my depth in other areas. So I need people who help out with these parts.
And hey - one day I might need a few pointers in these subjects as well, so it's in my best interest if the wiki becomes more than one-dimensional.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
