American author Madeleine L'Engle, writer of A Wrinkle in Time, A Ring of Endless Light, and over 60 other published works, has died Thursday at the age of 88. Her works have been widely celebrated, receiving such honors as the Newbury Medal, and her personal honors include a 2004 National Humanities Medal among others.

"You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children."

That's a damn shame. I think A Wrinkle in Time changed a lot of young girls' lives in its time.

I remember reading A Wrinkle in Time in 3rd or 4th grade. One of my best friends had read it, so I did too, and loved it.
