"The HTML 5 will definitely contribute to a better Web. Despite its specification is still being drafted, several browsers like Firefox 3.5, Internet Explorer 8, Safari 4, Chrome 2 and Opera 10 already implement a significant part of the current HTML 5 specification."

Unknown Fantasy Art 1 - First Feature

*Mistresselysia:iconMistresselysia: reports, September 9, 2007
UNKNOWN FANTASY ART 1

The purpose of this feature is raise awareness of some of the wonderful fantasy art that falls through the slats here on DA. It's inevitable - so many pieces are posted every day here that it is hard for everything to get noticed, and even the most deserving of pieces and deviants often get little to no attention whatsoever. Therefore, all the pieces featured here have less than 20 favourites upon posting; for me, getting 20 favourites is like that 'magic' number - I remember the first time one of my pieces hit 20 and how special it made me feel (and if I'm honest, I still get it even now!).

I fave everything I feature - hopefully you'll find something you like and leave a comment / fave for these deserving artists.

So without further ado...

by :iconjsundmint: An amazing piece of pencil work, just stuffed to the gills with small details.

by :iconsnowflurrycat: Beautifully intricate and crisp lineart.

by :iconschatten-drache: Rich colour makes this very striking indeed.

: :by :iconakairisu: Beautifully detailed work - done in ballpoint pen, no less!

by :iconelysiia: Richly detailed and coloured - fullview is a must.

by :iconkahtavi: Like something out of a Lovecraftian nightmare... excellent composition, and you've just got to symapthise with the look on her face... :D

by :iconsakalah: I have no idea why this piece isn't more popular - it looks like something out of a professional publication.

by :iconchibiraziel: You don't often see humour in fantasy art - this one has it in spades!

by :iconmadelftk: Beautiful rain effects, made even more poignant by the story attached to it.

by :iconheartofcrystal: Why hasn't this made the front page yet?! Interesting character with simply beautiful colouring.

by :iconinmc: I don't do 3D, but have infinite respect for those who do... Interesting concept - I wonder how she got those magnificent wings? :)

by :iconsinkosiete: Those who know me know that I LOVE pencil work - this is beautifully rendered with a slightly left-of-centre fairy as the subject!

by :iconzigguratartwork: Fullview is a must - so many rich details in this piece.

by :iconpuzzledpieces: Not your usual subject! The green and red are just so striking together, and the dedication makes it a very special piece.

by :iconrikimi: I'm not usually much of an Anime-esque fan, but the details in this bowled me over - wonderful piece of pencil linework.

by :icongerberamf: I rather famously can't draw hands for toffee. This person can! There is a lovely, peaceful atmosphere about this piece.

by :iconcanesgalactica: Almost feeling like an abstract painting, this piece is just full of vibrant colour.

by :iconsaulo-may: There is a lot of movement in this piece - and what a great pose!

by :iconxaotl: I have been a fan of *xaotl's work for a few years now - and this is why (so hard to chose just one...). Such detail and wonderful composition!

by :iconseedydeedee: If you want well rendered (and above all, devestatingly gorgeous!) 3D rendered male art, then Deedee's your girl... ;) So much raw emotion in this!

by :iconvladimirsangel: The queen of anthro in my eyes! This has such a fun feeling to it - it's like an illustration from a children's novel (well, one that allows chest shots of a well-muscled tigerchappie, anyway!)

by :iconbluesrat: Such a wonderfully moody piece... makes you wonder who he's waiting for.

Initially, I'll probably make this a fortnightly feature, but time in Elysia World is often relative (depending on how much work I have to do / how much procrastination I have indulged in / how much alcohol I have imbibed recently...), but if you known someone who deserves to be featured, or wish to be featured yourself, note me or post up in my thumbshare thread located here: [link]

Thanks for looking; I really hope you found something to inspire you here :)

Hey, very nice - most times when someone gives a 'tour' like this, they end up hitting a lot of artists you already know about, but you managed to find a bunch of artists legitimately in need of more exposure!

nice collection!

So I heard u liek fanart :evileye:
*Mistresselysia:iconMistresselysia: Sep 9, 2007, 4:41:27 AM
:) That was the plan - they all have under 50,000 pageviews (and in most cases, under 10,000). So many times I read features and then look at the art... and find out that each piece has already got a good 100+ faves and hundreds of views / comments, hence the reason I have insisted on less than 20 faves on this. Time to give some those who need legitimate exposure their props!

Exactly my experience too - so the low-exposure rule was definitely a good addition to the "expose the insufficiently loved" genre. :)
