Purpledaizie

is a very versatile artist. Her tastes vary from that of drawing and sketching to that of photography, and photo-manipulation. One striking characteristic of her work is the use of light.
1. How long have you been doing art?
Since I was old enough to doodle & scribble with crayons
2. What, or who, got you started and influenced your work?
My dad... After he passed away, I took what he taught me and kept going
3. Do you have any formal training as an artist?
Eh... A couple of art classes here and there, it helped me learn techniques and such
4. What software do you normally use for creating or preparing a work for display on the internet?
So far it is my photoshop program (I still have alot to learn on it)
5. Do you have a preference for the type of picture you like to create?
No preference... but it usually goes by what other people want me to draw or what I haven't drawn in a while...
6. Can you give a brief overview of the techniques you use?
Alot of controlled lines, smooth pencil shading, alot of q-tips, tissue & I use an eraser to lift out highlights
7. What sort of things inspire your artwork?
The reactions I receive from people, I like helping make people happy
8. Could you pick out 3 of your most favorite images from your gallery and explain why you particularly like them?
I would say, My Vespa scooter drawing for one because I never drawn anything mechanical and it was so tedious... The latest commission I did with the little boy and baby girl, the mothers reaction to is made me feel awesome and I think it turned out quite well... Last but not least, The drawing of my daughter... way overdue
9. Do you have any advice for aspiring artists?
Oh golly, never compare your art to anyone else, never say you can't when what it comes down to is "wanting"... When you make a boo-boo, add it to the piece and make it look like you meant to do that, only you will know!
10. Do you have any future plans for diversifying your artwork?
Um... I dunno... I am going to do some commissions & projects for my mother in law in supporting her writings... who knows what the future holds
11. Is there anything else you'd like to add about what you do? (Feel free to give links etc. where appropriate!)
Well, I am a mom... I work part-time at Sears... I play around with jewelry (making it when I have time) and I sell on eBay (drawing services)
Here are but a few examples of her work. Please take a moment to visit her gallery.

I'm not a faerie but I need
More than this life so I became
This creature representing more to you
Than just another girl
And if I had a chance to change my mind
I wouldn't for the world

Purple is the colour of majesty. God's majesty lives inside your belly like a dormant whirlpool waiting to fire up when His will is to be done. Let the Purple Whirlpool take over your life and see His majesty reign.
