Director of Artist Relations


Hello!

The purpose of Artist Relations is to strengthen the community spirit as well as network with fellow artists so that we may bring outside opportunities to you, and help you to hone your skills. The Gallery Directors are the first people you should go to regarding your galleries. They are the people you need to make gallery suggestions to, and ask questions about your specific genre, or seek knowledge from. They also act as your lifeline to the administration. They are here to support and listen, and I can tell you we've got incredibly talented, devoted and passionate people on this team, so get to know them!

Please join us in welcoming ^Hanratty-Stock and ^WilderWein77 to the Artist Relations team. ^Hanratty-Stock will be joining ^LawrenceDeDark in Stock Photography and ^WilderWein77 will be joining Photomanipulation with ^kuschelirmel

Please note that ^kuschelirmel is away for two weeks, feel free to send your Daily deviation suggestions to ^WilderWein77 but please be patient as she's still learning the system and has a lot to ingest before being fully functional. If you need anything urgent please feel free to note or email me (moonbeam13@deviantart.com) and I'll be happy to help you.

The oddity of submitting a deviation to one category and having it land in a completely different one, should be over. Bear in mind that I did this by hand, line by line, so the possibility that I've missed something is entirely likely. If you find this is still happening to you, please don't leave a comment on this article, instead note or email me (moonbeam13@deviantart.com) and I'll fix it ASAP.

The pumpkin carving category went away mysteriously for a short period of time but apparently missed us greatly and has returned to it's place in Artisan Crafts -> culinary arts.

The darkroom category has also been changed to separate digital from traditional. Please read the Photography updates for more information.

I spend a lot of time clearing up miscats. For those new to the lingo, a miscat is a wrongfully categorized deviation and the biggest mistake is between digital and traditional art. If you create your artwork with pens, paint, markers, or some other hand-held drawing tool not connected to your computer, your deviations are traditional. If you use your computer, a tablet, a mouse, etc, then your deviation is digital. Paying attention to this subtle difference will solve a lot of miscat issues and save my team a lot of time they can use on far more interesting things for you

There was a two week lag on the viewing past daily deviations link in user galleries, this has been fixed However, please note that when you view past DD's the date shown at the bottom is the date the deviation was uploaded to deviantART and not the date it was made a daily deviation. To ensure the 3 month minimum time has passed, please check the deviation itself to see when it was made a daily deviation. Thanks!

The Designs and Interfaces news folder, much like the pumpkin category, disappeared for a while as well (maybe it was a date?..) It however, is now back as well

The support I received for my annual "Weekend To End Breast Cancer" event was astounding. You can read the wrap-up details here Our community has always felt like family to me and this not only reinforced that feeling for me, it showed me that many of you feel that too and that's incredible Thank you.

The Artist Relations team is literally kicking ass. We have so many things going right now I'm surprised our heads aren't spinning. Keep watching for more information on Film, Community Outreach, Educational projects, Streamlining and of course contests We're fired up! Are you?

I have noticed an increase in people sending notes to myself or my gallery directors to report policy and copyright violations. Please file help desk tickets for this. My team does not deal directly with violations and it's absolutely necessary to keep running records of instances that occur, so we will direct you back to the help desk to ensure proper protocol. Thank you.
