I´m glad to say that a new community has born
I began this project with a lot of ilusion and the wonderful and accepted to be admins with me
I want to say thank´s to this wonderful and nice women.

We want to share our knowledges about ancient religion and to promote art related to the pagan theme...but we don´t want a restrictive community and for this reason environment, fantasy, emotional and some dark art (nothing too bloody or gore please) are welcomed too.

We will try to maintain updated the journal with interesting articles related to pagan subjects and we want too to make special challenges or events to special dates as the sabbaths or esbaths...

Here you have our first article, a little introduction about "what is paganism"

PAGANISM

The word paganism comes from Latin "pagus" (field) and "paganus" ("farmer", "field man").
The "pagan" term began to be used of contemptuous form when the Christianity became official religion of the Roman Empire. In their majority the Christians lived the "great" cities, for this reason was why they began to talk with this term about to the habitants of the countryside that still continued professing politesist religions that revered the nature.
With time the pagan term got even to mean "person without religion" or "heretic".
According to the influence and the power of the Christianity grew, the term "paganism" increased its negative connotations, relating it to the black magic, the Satanism or cult to the devil, the heresy...
Nowadays still pervive that negative association of the paganism with the cult to the Devil or the witchcraft (understanding this also in its negative conception).
In the paganism the Christian figure of the devil or Satan does not exist, so it would be ridiculous situation that we adored a being in whom we do not create.

The paganism is not a cult to badly either.
At the moment we could define the paganism or neopaganism as a life form, in addition to a religion, that is based on the old preChristian pagan religions that adored the nature and their aspects.
Pagans mainly took deities and traditions from European pagan religions, such as the celtic, the Nordic or the Egyptian mythologyes.
But our beliefs are not limited a single pantheon, and many pagans take divinities from pagan traditions of other countries.
The divinities do not stop being representations or to symbols of aspects of the nature and the own one to be human.
The pagans we think that the divinity is present in all the nature and its beings, and we revered it in all its aspects, masculine and the feminine one.
Many pagans do not have a concrete pantheon of Gods, and adores to the God and the Goddess, like representations of the masculine and feminine principle of the nature and the universe, complementary and present in everything.
The paganism reveres the nature and its manifestations.
The nature is our patrimony and the paganism implies to respect it, to live in harmony with agreed her and to its cycles.
As pagan we think that all badly which we do to the our planet (although principle of nature would include all the universe well-known and stranger, doing reference to all infinitely) we do us we ourself.
Therefore the paganism and the ecology go united.
The personal experience is extremely important in the paganism, do not exist intermediary to connect to us with the divinity. The personal understanding and interpretation of the divinity are unique for each pagan. The paganism is a nonhierarchized religion (although as in all the religions or spiritual movements people that try to be like only connoisseurs of the truth, gurús or intermediaries have appeared).

The magic is inside everyone of us, the capacity of spiritual union with the nature and the cosmos also. Of course that are people who have been more time in the way, but the wisdom is not patrimony of one single one or a few, are something for everyone who truly wishes to find it, the teachers exist within the paganism, but simply like guides, aids or introducers, not like superior or special beings.
Paganism celebrate different rites that harmonize to us with the cycles of the nature: we celebrate the changes of phase of the Moon and the Sun, the solstices and equinoxes... since they represent the eternal sacred spiral of birth, maturity, oldness, death and Renaissance.
The belief in more than a life is also characteristic of the paganism. We considered each life like a learning opportunity and spiritual development to arrive at a kind of comunión or nirvana with the universe.
Also we belive in the existence of an intermediate place between one and another life, called by many "Summerland" or "the Earth of the Eternal Summer".
Even so in the paganism there are a great variety of traditions and beliefs (although all have a same base).
We don´t belive in religion like something dogmatic and closed, but as something fruit of the experience and the study.
We respect all the religions and beliefs, as long as they don´t try to be "the only" valid form.
For us all the divinities are representations or aspects of the same universal principle.
We looked for tolerance, and we did not practice the proselitism (that is to say, we don´t search followers or supporters nor tried to turn to anybody to our beliefs.
In many pagan traditions the feminine divinity have a special importance, partly by the "female concept" of the Earth, the biological connection between feminine and the nature due to the lighting capacity and because the feminine divinity or the feminine aspect of the divinity "has been more despised" in main and the majority religions monotheists.
Also we would like to make clear that although the magic (treated as the handling about energies) is part of the paganism, but not main it, since there is much confusion about this point and the paganism and esoterism are often confused.
The main purpose of this community is unite to people interested in the paganism, share our art and our knowledges... the beauty of our beliefs, and of course, have fun
"and for that they were touched by the beauty of the green Earth, the white Moon and the radiating Sun, for which they love the splendor of all the Life, we say: You are not alone "
