Background

The idea for this project was to end up with a giant Pink Quilt made up of individual Quilt Squares submitted by members of the deviantART community. This was a community project to raise awareness for The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. For more information you can read the original News Article.

The Quilt

The quilt is made up of over 400 quilt squares and measures 8000x8400 pixels. Thank you so much for everyone that contributed. The entries represented varied art forms and the originality and quality of the work made it very tough to pick winners.

Two versions of the Quilt were made.

The first is a full-scale Quilt that includes every entry (Warning: the file is 45MB in size):

The second is a fun version that was created by running a photo-mosaic program. Not all entries may be included due to the algorithm used:

There were so many really good entries to this contest that choosing just 3 to receive prizes was extremely difficult for me - in the end though I had to choose...
