Due to the over-whelming response to my previous news article
Simplicity - it's Simple! and the large number of people asking me to write another one, I am following the general trend and therefore (surprise surprise) I am writing the sequel.
I
know that lot's of people agree with me about the simple photos often being the best, but I wanted to get across the message that it's not just about the shot being simple. It's about the idea too...
As aprofessional Art Critic I will all too often come across a piece that is fantastic - it looks good, feels great, everything is there, but I can't understand it. Visually it's amazing - and that is the case with a lot of photos too - but it's missing the idea behind it. Somehow a lot of people manage to take photos without knowing why they're doing it. Surely that's half the point?!
Anyway - here's some more examples of exactly what I mean when I say simple shots with simple ideas make beautiful photos:
a new but simple portrait - beauty comes from within...
simple shots, simple lighting, simple ideas - it's simple!
A shot recommended to me by my good friend =
Acwraith - this shot is just so easy, yet so hard...
it's not about finding the most complex subject, it's about finding a subject that is simply beautiful...
it's the bottom of a bridge - simple
I have to say that this is one my favourite photos ever - crisp, easy, simple and pure, it's just so abstractly inspiring...
It's so easy to take good photos but too many people get caught up on the complexities...
simple
how simple can you get?!
Nature photographer listen up - this is for you too... take a simple shot, but make sure that it's amazing...
simple, yet effective...
I love this shot...
I quote: "fuck straight lines and be happy." Good for you
it's all about the moment...
I apologise if a lot of these shots seem to be water or landscape - but that's a lot more common. Next time I'll find some portraits, I promise...
Hee hee hee, this amazing
just people - keep it simple
Ok, I think that what I'm still trying to get across is that simple = beautiful, but not just the subject or the manner in which the photo is taken, but also the
idea. So get out there, find something simple, and make it beautiful!
Yours,
=
