- The Feature
I really enjoyed the previous edition of ‘Others Before Myself’, because it gives the featured person feedback for he/she does for the community. It’s also a pleasant way for the featured person to get a little bit of nice exposure, and to help the community spirit of helping each other out. Last editions feature was on ‘The internet Husband’, Rik. A man in his best years helping out the community a lot, without getting a lot of recognition. This edition is the contrary, a person who’s very popular around the scene, but still finds the time to help others out in best possible way. It’s a true pleasure to present to you this Editions Featured artist.
There are many great artists around the world, few which keep their feet on the ground and still find time, to help others, and give them exposure, in a way only that unique person can do. Inspiration is a key word to this featured edition, as an artist I’m inspired not only of her art but her personality and warm heart.
Inspiring A Whole Community

She took us all by surprise from the very start, the 17th of February 2004 would be the beginning of long road, for the young girl from Midlands, UK. It all began with photomanipulation, with ‘Ne me quitte pas’ being one of the first pieces of art to be embraced here at DeviantART. At present time Lara Jade has established her self as one of the most popular and known artists here at DeviantART.
I was honoured to have the chance to talk with Lara a few nights during the past weeks getting a foresight into her daily hectic life. She still feels she has a lot more to learn, and that as in all other attributes in life you can always extend your talent. It’s taken her a very long time, and a lot of hard work to get her to where she is now.
And a message for all you out there that, wonder what it takes to achieve the same level of work as Lara, from her personally is practice, and practice even more.
As I’ve mentioned before Lara is not only a very convincing talented photographer but also she’s also the editor of the editions ‘Inspire’. Which was started because Lara felt that there are so much unknown talents wandering around on the Internet, and especially on DeviantART, then what better way then to make a monthly feature?
- A Heart of Gold
Lara might be most famous for her own art, but to me that’s not all. Behind those excusive art pieces of which thousands of us drawl over wishing we had the same talent, is an adorable girl with a heart of gold. Willing to help others out as much as her free time allows her. As editor of the Inspire editions, Lara doesn’t only represents the helpful and caring people of the community but she also helps bring forward talented people, who might not always be receiving the recognition that they deserve.
With the popularity status, which Lara has been tagged on here at DeviantART, comes both advantages and disadvantages. The advantages which are pretty obvious is that you get a wide range of different personalities and people looking at your work with different aspects, and that many people encourage you to continue to develop your talent. But also she’s very happy to use her own popularity to help others thanks to a big watch list, she attracts many to read her ‘Inspire’ articles. Sadly with popularity comes disadvantages such as people tend to judge you due to your popularity, and that the popularity sometimes only stays within the community and doesn’t spread out elsewhere, on a worldwide bases.
There’s a say that behind every successful man, is a supportive wife, but this time it’s the other way round. Ant, Lara’s twenty-year-old boyfriend, is a constant inspiration and support for Lara giving honest critiques and being generally very helpful. Now over three years ago since the couple meet for the first time at the train station near Lara’s help, in which the adorable couple connected directly, with love from first site, it’s been a very enjoyable relationship, in which both parts hope to continue for many years to come.

They might be 'afraid' to give critique, while everyone needs it to improve. Thats what I think of as the downside of being watched by that many people.
